Brushy Creek Kennels. FOX news got involved (right here on YT) after I had been there and posted.... which prompted a bunch of people to message me and post here about their experience - (there are hundreds of posts now about them on the site so I can't link) Fox news did a 3 segment investigation report on tv and it got more calls than the ENRON Scan - (showing ME how many people cared) Inside Edition picked up the story due to the attention it received and they went undercover and did a segment on their show about Mills. I turned down the interview they wanted me to do because I never 'bought' a puppy and wanted the attention on those that had ......so I just helped find people to be on tv - but the 'Kennel' operator wanted me off the planet when the story broke - I slept fine at night because nothing I said was slander and thanks to YT (and the News) - we got them shut down (YT Admin never took my posts off even after threats) SO - YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE ! I'm sorry it was a scary experience for you Bren | |

There used to be a big 'breeder' that would threaten people all the time ....He and I came to an 'understanding' and I did finally decide he wasn't the worst of the worst -but he's all over the net full of complaints.....not long ago he decided to get out of the 'business' - but it's still in operation. One key thing to remember they can be very charming - They're in SALES 1st and formost - so are very good at fooling people and working around the loopholes. Especially the mills. There's just too many Until laws are changed and enforced - they will continue to operate and take advantage of dogs AND people. It's an uphill battle and imo - is going to take a long long time to change.....baby steps are all we can do - and they DO add up. One day that baby is walking - then running ....so hopefully people don't deter from trying out of fear or feeling there's nothing to do. Sometimes it only takes ONE person to make a difference or bring attention to a problem edited to add - this thread is great and I do encourage anyone in Missouri to speak up. I wish other states could add something cause I know I would - cindy - is that possible ?

Each state has their own laws and would have to be viewed state by state. I would look at each states Humane Society pages to see if they have anything posted. In this case, they are going state by state where some of the worse mills are and are trying to make a difference and educate people. It is a slow process and a very expensive process. None of it will work unless the voters understand some of the changes (Woogie Man pointed out in his state how some of these things are tied together with farm animals and are voted down). They have to stand up and speak out and write letters. I remember a number of years ago when California tried to pass a law that humans were guardians of their pets instead of owners to buy and sell like cattle. I remember people laughing about the whole thing and saying it was just ridiculous...well I am here to say because people refuse to educate themselves about their state laws then puppies are just product to be produced and sold like cattle.

Also a lot of people need to learn and understand how the legislative system actually works. It is a serious process and takes hard work for animal and human rights activist. Some claim they know but actually don't, or have become so cynical and angry that they are blindsided and expect instant gratification. Some give up because of abusive lobbyist who block them. When it comes to getting laws passed that HELP animals, or people one should NEVER give up. The system is in place for ALL and giving up or being discouraged is what the people who abuse the system want.
