The next YorkieTalk Gift Exchange, YT GE XXX, our THIRTIETH Gift Exchange, will take place in November 2012. Remember that the person you are giving a gift to MAY or MAY NOT be the same person you are receiving a gift from. You MAY or MAY NOT be paired with a Yorkie of the opposite sex. There is no official theme for this GE.

Effective January 2012, we have revised some rules of the YorkieTalk Gift Exchange. Please be aware of the new rules. Please note that the new minimum has been raised to $40. Here is the link to the GE Rules & Regulations:

Please note that the spending minimum is now $40 for your Gift Exchange gift (this does not include shipping), though if you choose to spend more on your Secret Buddy, you may. Please do not expect anything more.

Here is the YT Gift Exchange Rules & Regulations. We now require all participants to be Donating Members (members that have donated $25 or more). If you are ALREADY currently a Donating Member (your usertitle shows Donating Member), this does not apply to you. We must receive your donation before you may sign up for this Gift Exchange. If you want to enter two Yorkies in this Gift Exchange, you must have donated a total of $50 or more.

Please note that you MAY receive a secret buddy in Canada (if you are in the US), and you MAY receive a secret buddy in the US (if you are in Canada). Be prepared to pay a few dollars more in shipping costs if this is the case. If you receive a secret buddy in Europe or overseas, there will be extra shipping costs, thus you will be reimbursed roughly $19 for the extra shipping. We will reimburse you via Paypal or cashier's check after the recipient receives their gift. Also, to save on shipping costs, you may want to keep the package "lighter".

If you are not in the USA or Canada, there is a $20 shipping fee to participate per Gift Exchange. Your Secret Buddy will be reimbursed this $20 fee after you have received your package. This covers the extra costs of shipping international.

This thread is ONLY for SIGNUPS. Do not post any questions or anything else besides sign up in this thread. Please PM us if you have any questions.

You must already have your Yorkie (if you are a new Yorkie parent) by July 1, 2012 to participate in this Gift Exchange.

The signup period will end October 31, 2012. You will receive your Secret Buddy information within THREE DAYS after the end of the signup period. If for some reason you sign up and can not participate in this Gift Exchange, you MUST notify us before the end of the signup period.

You may send gifts starting November 1, 2012. The deadline for sending out gifts will be November 30, 2012.

Please note you must post a "Thank You" thread to your buddy within 2 weeks of receiving your package, unless you notify us in advance (family vacation, emergencies, etc).

Yorkie's Favorite:

Toys - Zeus is still trying to figure out how to be a dog. He played with a squeak toy for the first time with Daddy a couple of months ago. He's played with it since but only when he gets really excited.

Snacks - He cannot have processed snacks, but is not allergic to any type of meat. Bully sticks and homemade snacks are typically what he gets! HE LOVES FOOD!

Clothes style - I will be posting pictures in his album by the end of the sign up. I love plaid and argyle and sweaters that would, perhaps, be considered "preppy". Daddy loves it when he wears polo shirts and we are a very Marvel-loving household, so he wears t-shirts too.

Because he's typically longer than a normal Yorkie, his sweaters don't completely cover him. In the winter, it's especially important that they do because of the cold. He is getting over some pretty severe allergies and has lost a lot of hair because of it and proper sweaters are pretty much a mandatory item for this coming winter.

Yorkie's favorite colors - Teal, blue, black, red, green...I'd put him in anything (like purples and pastels!) if Daddy didn't have a say!

Anything extra I want my Gift Exchange Pal to know about my Yorkie (please mention anything your Yorkie doesn't like or doesn't want or can't eat) - In terms of food, there is nothing he won't eat, but he really shouldn't have anything that has been processed. It is harder for him to digest.

We love home-made stuff, so that will always be very much appreciated! We are a wine-and-dine type of family so his "outside" clothes are socially preppy. He will be in need of PJs soon...

He loves to cuddle and frequently goes to work with me. We have a protective bark that we're working on. His best friend is Big Brother Odysseus (cat) who thinks he's a dog (he plays with Zeus's toys more than he does!)

Hi, I am Lola and I am a girly girl. I will be two years old the day after Christmas

My Measurements (Weight, Height, Length, Neck Size, and Chest Size) -
5.5 lbs, height 8" from floor to top of back, Neck 7.25, from base of neck to just before the tail starts is 10.5" but clothing should not exceed 9.5" in length her chest is 12.5" but her waist where most of the clothes wrap around is 10.5"

Yorkie's Favorite Things Mom helped me put my list together and there is also a favorite things album here on YT so you can peek inside my clothes and toy closet. But I am an adventurous girl so I told mom that I would like to try new things also. But mostly we are looking forward to spoiling our new Buddy.

Yorkie's Size of clothing - depending on the brand I am small or x small, in clothes from stores like wallmart and home goods I am normally X small but at pet boutiques sometimes I wear just small.

Bows: I love bows and need them, I prefer the 3/8 double bow size and sometimes can wear the 5/8 size, we like the stiff bows made from ribbon, not the fabric style. We prefer double rubber bands or the small plastic barrettes (not metal barrettes) no alligator style clips or large fu fu bows please. I also could use some good quality little rubber bands like the show dogs have, mom can't seem to find good ones at the local stores

Clothing style - I am a girly girl and I like mostly dresses and harness dresses. I am fluffy, (mom says hairy) so I tend to get hot so I don't need any more coats or sweaters. I also don't like to have things pulled over my head or my legs pushed through holes, so unless it's super special I prefer Velcro closures. I have a big tail that I like to wag allot so mom says short and sassy dresses that are no longer than 9.5" from neck to hem fit me best. I like to go for walks in my dresses so I need d ring button hole or a d ring on my clothes so mom can attach the leash. If it's a button hole it has to go sideways about an inch down from the neck.

My favorite colors - ohhhh I love pink, lavender, yellow and most pastels, plus zebra prints, stripes, checks, and hot bright colors. I like dresses with more than one fabric on them, and bows without tails. Mom is on the hunt for some non Christmas wintery type patterns, maybe with some sparkly snowflakes, or something pretty to get us through the long MI snow covered months. I don't look my best in drab earth tone colors, like greens, browns, mustard, etc. We also don't like pop art patterns or clothes with cartoon characters or animals on them, guess I am not a themey girl. But stuff with my name on it is always nice.

Toys: Hi I am Lola and I am a toy addict, yes that is true, if it squeaks, is rubber or latex and if it can be thrown I know I will just LOVE it Mom keeps buying me soft toys, but I don't like those as much, she also said that my toys all have to be over 3" in all directions because I am sneaky and put them under the couch, then I scratch so hard to get them out that I am making a mess of her couch, so only large toys for me from now on. When it comes to toys, cheap is better and lots is better than expensive, some of my favorite toys come from the dollar stores and Wal-Mart, I really love my toys

Snacks: Treats, ohhhh I love treats and I am lucky because so far I have no allergies, I love the bill jack liver treats and all the small meat flavored training treats. I also love my bully sticks, I prefer a medium size one that I can chew on for days. Oh and since I like to get my face in mom's face she says she will only kiss me if I have the unflavored bully. I also chew on medium to larger sized milk bones.

Mom said that I was to tell my buddy anything extra I wanted them to know, well here goes. As much as Mom loves how toy boxes look she will not let me have one, she says that if I have one I get crazy, like really crazy and never stop huffing and puffy, and panting and jumping in and out of it, and then I dump it over and throw every toy out of it But LOL even though I don't need a toy box, I do want, toys, yes I love toys. I do have plenty of standard collars and harnesses, I also have more beds then I sleep in and because I am so fluffy mommy said no one sees my necklace so she is not getting me anymore of those.

Against my will I am being forced to tell you that we need grooming products, and that I would love to try Yorkie Splash and Shine and especially grooming sprays and gels and anything my buddy likes we would like to try. I saw a little satin pillow ring that would help me be more comfortable when mom puts me in my dreaded daily ponytail.

Don't tell Mom this but I am a Yorkie pom cause if you look around our house you would think I was all Yorkie, I have even heard her tell people I am a Yorkie. So I know she loves Yorkie stuff, she really is a sucker for all things Yorkie, especially if they have my name on it. If you are crafty even better, mom loves anything her friends make.

Special request from mom, please mark toys with open last, because if I get to the toys first I will not want to look at anything else, (mom is no fun) yep toys I love toys, yes I am a toy addict

This will be our first gift exchange, so we are looking forward to it and hope more people sign up

Luma LOVES bows. Her favorite time of day is grooming time!! We like 5/8" size.
French barrettes and bands. She would love to start her BowBiz bow collection with some bows good for year round.

Luma is not a chewer, so nothing tough. She loves squeaky toys and crinkley bottle toys. Snacks are limited as we are battling skin issues and allergies. We try to give her healthy treats: all-natural, organic, preservative free etc. For clothes her style is girly but practical. She isn't fancy, so t-shirt dresses would be awesome! She loves soft fabrics, anything with frills, and could use some nice fleece jammies as it's already getting very chilly and she loves to be comfy and pampered. (Plus she LOVES to sleep, lol!)

Please, no rawhides or bullysticks, nor treats made in China. She likes most other treats like Zukes and loves sweet potato.

We love handmade gifts from the heart, and would also love to try out some YT vendors and support them. Luma really loves to be groomed and her hair is getting long, so we would like to try Yorkie splash and shine. We would love to have a bow organizer we could eventually fill up with BowBiz bows. The few she has are all smooshed! Store bought clothing rarely fits her long torso correctly. If you are going to buy clothes, handmade going by her measurements is best, so that she can wear and cherish them for years to come.

Luma is an happy, easy-going, fun little girl. She loves everything and everyone around her. She likes to go on walks, but she REALLY loves to sit on mama's lap while I brush her. She falls asleep while I put her topknot in. Luma, mama, and daddy are always cuddling together. We like to snuggle up together in soft blankets and stay warm.

All of these were just suggestions, this is her first GE and she will love everything you get her! She says she loves you so much already, buddy! Thank you for making her first Christmas and first GE special!

We always love to get lots of ideas from the secret buddy signup we receive so we’ll give you lots of ideas to give you somewhere to start. Above all, have fun and don’t worry too much about what you get us. Tucker would be happy with an empty water bottle, lol!

Some ideas:
Agility Tucker and I do agility. We are just getting started with the accessories though. We would be super excited about any sort of agility merchandise like a harness, or anything really, with an agility related saying or graphic on it. I know they’ve got lots of cool memorabilia out there for it. For harnesses, Tucker has a partially collapsed Trachea, so we really have to be careful that nothing puts any kind of pressure on his throat.

Clothes/Outfits Tucker could use a few more pairs of overalls. He likes to mark so anytime we visit a friend, go to Petsmart, etc. he has to wear a belly band—and overalls are the perfect outfit to hide the band and make him look cute, instead of suspicious with just the band. He is extremely long and skinny, so premade overalls usually don't fit him. If you'd like to contribute to his overall collection, he would love a white pair, a light khaki/tan/biege pair, or a plain denim pair with no trim. If you really want to go overboard, you could have his name embroidered on them. "Tucker" or "Tuckey-Wuckey" would be awesome! This is probably the number one item on our wish list!! He's all set on most other kinds of clothing.

Crate: Tucker has a million beds and blankets so we don’t need any more of those. He does spend a fair amount of time in his Crate waiting for his turn at agility, so anything that would make that a more welcome place would be great!

Charlie has MVD so his protein intake must be very low we havent been able to find treats without meat protein so that would be nice if there is such a thing. im not sure if you can ship this but he likes cheese and dairy protein is allowed LOL - Charlie also might like a blanket all his own

Yorkie's Favorite Toys, Snacks, Clothing style -

TOYS - Little Mia LOVES playing with toys! She enjoys toys with squeakers and those toys with bottles in them. She also got an interactive barnyard toy with cows in it that she can pull out...or in her case, just take out the cows and drag the barn around the living room lol

SNACKS - Mia enjoys chewing on bully sticks and this is usually what she does before bedtime. I only buy from bestbullysticks.com though just to be sure they are good for her. We are trying to stay away from chicken flavored treats for the time being. Other than that, she enjoys Zuke's Mini Natural Dog Treats (Savory Salmon), NurtiSource Soft & Tender Treats (Salmon & Lamb Flavors), Science Diet Soft & Chewy Training Treats with Real Beef, Blue Buffalo Blue Bits Turkey Flavor...as I am sure you are getting the idea - soft, chewy, salmon-flavored, lamb-flavored, beef-flavored, turkey-flavored. We like to use yorkie splash and shine for shampoo and conditioner but open to other grooming products. We have most of the madan combs and brushes.

If you are crafty, don't be afraid to make things! To be honest, Mia is going to love ANYTHING she gets. She is very easy to please!!!

I know that is weird, but she has went through 3 toys that look like a human foot. She goes nuts over them. Her favorite snacks are fresh fruits and veggies. The only store bought treat she eats is a Blue Buffalo Blue Bone mini dental treat during our nightly grooming. She is not a fan of an type of biscuit that I have found. Im so in love with her. She love to play….loves bullys. She may be facing some health issues but we are working it all out and doing whatever is best for her! She’s fierce and a sweet, lovable lil baby doll. She loves small toys that talk or make a noise. Lilo Kahlua loves all food and clothes. she really needs a new coat or pjs because shes always cold. she doesnt really wear animal print and smetimes gets a tummy ache from treats made with fish. her favorites are dehydrated fruit. if you want to see what style of clothing she wears check out her facebook page or type in lilo kahlua in google.
