| Hoping this is not common... One thing we have noticed her in NB at dog shows is how people dress! Unreal! Sloppy! Yuck! One owner was not wearing a bra, running around the ring, most woman had no panty hose, hair not done, dog hair all over them, dirty clothes, sloppy shoes...I could go on. My husband and I were appalled, we were more decently dressed to watch the show... interesting how easily you could pick out the prof handlers, all the men wore suits and ties, the women also had on suits, or dresses, kilts, nice shoes, makeup and jewelry. Just out of curiosity is this the norm?

| LOL. I found this amusing because when I went to my first dog show a month ago, I had the same thoughts. It was more the agility handlers, I told my husband that they must have another contest going on behind the scenes.. "who could dress the funnest". The people in conformation were more frumpy than weird. |

| shows I think it depends on the areas and the shows...at Specialties, people dress very nice...in NY they go the limit..cocktail dresses etc. Most shows I go to, people are dressed nice, sporty etc...not to sound predjustice, but the toy people tend to pay more attention to dress then the "big" dog people. It is no doubt hard to maintain a nice sense of style with a St Bernard slobber and hair all over you. PS..Vee, you might be joking, but it is sooo true. |

I just came back from a show a couple of weeks ago and in the Group ring there was an extremely large woman showing a toy dog, don't remember what kind, cause all I could do was keep from gagging, everytime she bent over (right in front of me & she wasn't wearing a longer jacket) her size hind end doubled in size. Not a pretty picture.

| outfit My friend was showing once and she was wearing new, red culotte's..each time she bent over they slipped down further around her hips. I kept motioning from the ring side to "pull up"..she thought I meant on the dogs lead..she took the dog around the ring pulled so high on the lead his front feet did not touch the floor and her pants were hanging at crouch level... |

| Ha ha, this is a funny thread for sure. Ever tried showing outdoors in the sun in a sleeve-less blouse? I had a real purty farmer's tan where my arm band was. LOL! |

Nope, I usually wear sleeveless in the summer, but always put a light weight jacket on, just before going in the ring. Although, I must admit, I've shown outdoors but, always under a covered area.

I wish we would have had the luxary of the covered area at the out door show. It was at Va Beach and although it was not a "match" by any means it was very semi-casual. There were a few people showing in jeans! I opted for capri's, flat shoes and sleeve-less blouses after I saw what everyone else was wearing. I had my summer suit and a jacket with me, but didn't bring out that hot thing when there was no need. I'm going back to the same show in December...I wonder what the "dress" will be in the Winter there...LOL I'm taking a mixture of things just to be safe.

I'm a wimp too in the heat. Glad I'm not the only one. We had to groom under the trees in the shade. That wasn't too fun. We did a good grooming at the hotel but had to do our top knots and touch ups under the trees. You do what ya gotta do you know.
