Wow I see that the ingredient in the USA Royal Canin food is so much diffirent from the Europe Royal Canin food. Here in Iceland there was no food recall, we receive the samt food as UK and Ireland and on their RC page I found this statement.

I have never heard of the types of food that you are talking about, here you can buy Hills, Technical, Pro pac, Performance, Purina, Pedigree, Solid Gold, Arden grange.... but never heard of AVoderm, Canide and Innova.
Here Royal Canin is thought to be the best quality dog food and it has the biggest range (so many types to choose from). But I can not find it on http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php

I see that most of you use Canide, is it expensive?
Is it one bag for all breeds? No special for mini dogs?
It seems that Canide all life stages is for puppies, adults, mature dogs, small, medium and large dogs, is this correct?
I am very curious about this food because your dogs seem to like it so much.

Just switched from Hill Science Diet to Canidae and Chloe LOVED it!! She actually picked out the old food and leave it inside the bowl or on the floor and ate the new food! After researched for a while, I believe Canidae is a GREAT food to feed our babies!!

I ran into the same thing in taiwan ... over here we have eukanuba, RC, iams, nutro, purina, and that's all i can think of. but really bad food, nutro was the best we could find but it made my dog really itchy b/c of the corn. So you're prolly gonna laugh, but I buy dogfood while I'm in the states and bring it back with me to taiwan! LOL ... what I wouldn't do for my dog. haha. maybe a little much oh wellz.

I see solid gold is offered in the iceland, that's a good food brand from what i've heard. its on the website you reffered too. i foud RC on the site for you.

It is not expensive at all, it is actually cheaper than RC!! 3 lbs of Canidae sells for US$7.99 in Pet Supply Plus (They dont sell it in PetsMart in US, sucks!!) and US$12.99 for RC!!!

It is one bag for all breeds, no special for mini dogs. The only difference is how much you are feeding them.

Yes, all life stages are for puppies, adults, mature dogs, small, medium and large dogs. It is on their websites why feed all life stages pet food...

I live in a small town and the closest Petsmart is 60 miles away. I was at the groomers one day droping off my grandpup and just happened to look at the right spot and saw that the sold INNOVA so I bought it and little Lola LOVED it. She is so picky!

I use to feed Joe Royal Canine, but he had very dry skin so I switched to Artemis puppy and canidae life stages. His skin has gotten so much better.

Just did a Google search on Maize & Maize Gluten - its Corn
Maize - also known as corn
Maize gluten - is a high protein substance. It is one of the byproducts of corn wet milling process.

Try Solid Gold Just A Bit Adult Small Breed - it is a top quality food, small kibble.
The Puppy formula is a larger kibble.
I had my 1st Yorkie on this till i got my 2nd puppy.

Has anyone here had their Yorkie on Canide for many years?
For ex. as puppy, adult and mature dog?

We have tried many kinds of dogfood.
For ex. we bought Eukanoba and did have a litter on that and the puppies were always rather fat and slow to start moving. Like they were "all soft" to the touch, not firm and strong. But they turned out ok.
But when we started to use Royal Canin the other litter (with the same combination/parents) and they seemed to develop better and were more firm and strong to the touch. More power in them. Better overall. First we thought maybe it was just a different outcome of the litter but after we started to get more powerful litters, stronger in the body, more muscular body, then we could see there was something about the diet that did matter.

We also noticed with the adult dogs that they became more firm (to the touch) and develop better muscle. Before on Eukanoba they were more "sloppy" in the body so they aquired much more movement to have them strong in the body for the dogshows.

With the mature dogs we saw changes to the better, some of them came to life...or you can say so...they became much more lively.

But the coat condition was the same on Eukanoba and RC, always very good.

But we would like to know more about this kind of food, like Canide, if it is having the same good effects as the European Royal Canin food. Because RC is so da** expensive. The small bag 3.3lb (1,5kg) is around 27.5$ and the bigger bag 16.5lb (7,5kg) is 105$ :question

We use Innova Small bites as well as the canned.It is 95 percent meat.
They love it.

I saw your post. I had a problem with my baby on nurto. we think all this time his weekly vet visits are from lamb. I switched to innova. BUT they gave me evo. It is higher protein then the puppy innova. Is this still o.k. for a 9 month old?
He seems to like it. cnadidae had lamb.

hmm ... i feed the regular innova, i was worried that Evo might be too high in protein for my guy b/c he has had problems with soft poopies (sorry) and thought the high protein might upset his stomach. My dog didn't do well on Nutro b/c of the corn, it made him really itchy.

your vet gave it to you so i think it should be oky. just watch him and see how he is... like his poops, his behavior, any weird changes, and b/c its higher in protein you may be able to feed him smaller servings (i would check with your vet b/c this is just my assumption) ... my concern would only be if your pup needs to be on a low protein diet due to MVD or some other liver problem, but if he's a healthy pup, i don't see why not feed it to him, esp if he eats it and likes. as pple know with picky eaters. lol.

hopefully other YT members will be able to give you some more advice.
