Is there a solution i can use on him for the tangles? What kind of brush should i be using? He also gets alot of boogie stuff in his eyes, what can i use to get this out? How often should i bath him and is any kind of puppy shampoo ok? Any advice would be awesome. Thank you and just a note to let you guys and gals know you are a great support team. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hi Sweets, I like the TIGI strawberry yogurt scented detangler...I get mine at PetSmart. Mist his whole body before you start brushing him, and when you brush him, work from the bottim of his coat up, so you can work out any snarls. I use a pin brush with plastic coated tips, they are best for fine hair. As far as the eye boogies, I try to soften them up with a warm wash cloth or unscented baby wipe, and then gently comb them out with a flea comb, it catches all the boogies. I try to bathe my doggies when they start smelling, usually every other week. There are great "waterless bath" products to use to freshen them up, I also use another TIGI/Pethead product for this. My favorite shampoos are made by pet silk & again, pet head. I hope this helps! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Get a good detangler/coat conditioner and always spray it on his coat before you brush. i use Chris Christensen Ice on Ice and Nature's Specialty Quicker Slicker. Depending on teh coat type you can use a slicker brush or pin brush to get the mats out and follow up with a metal comb. the slicker brush can be used on a cotton coat but most don't like it on a silk coat. As far as pin brushes go, you do NOT want to use a brush with little plastic balls on the tips. these will rip at the coat. I like CC pin brushes and Madan pin brushes.

| Tangle Teezer - Dramatically reduce hair breakage, splitting, and damage due to mistreatment of your hair Try this it is a great brush and if your dog hates getting brushed it is brilliant . I use this on my 2 and Alfie hated getting brushed but because this is so easy going through and getting the mats out he does not mind it at all. It is a british product but I think you may be able to source them on e-bay in the U.S. Good luck.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | The tangle teezer changed my relationship with Priscilla at grooming time. I ordered this crazy gadget from moderngent.com and Tony actually called me from England to clarify my order. I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a miracle. All the puppy hair is gone now and we no longer have a problem but thanks to tangle teezer.....she doesn't run from me at bath time or squeal like pig when she sees the grooming tools. She lays down while I bathe her and lays down when I blow her out, it's just a pleasure. I have some real sinkholes in my Yorkie Mom resume but this is one thing I did right. The products I use on her are Iv San Bernard. It revolutionized the quality of her hair. |
