| Is Science that bad? I'm switching Pepper into different food, His dry kibble stays untouched unless I mix it with something, I'd love to try to find something he'll like to eat... I just got a bag of Science, it's still sitting in the car as I'm at work. I did read the label and didn't see any by'products? It's that improved one in the colorful bag... But I read the reviews stating it's crap Now I'm really confused...

| If you baby doesn't have allergies, it completely healthy, doesn't have dry skin, and gets some supplements, then it's probably OK for him/her. Not the best food in the world, but OK. It used to be better before it was bought by a conglomerate. I fed that to my poddle for years until I realized that he was allergic to corn. DUH! I don't think anyone would say you are a bad mommie to feed Science to your baby. You do what you can and afford what you can afford. When my poodle was little, Science was a good food and it was at the limit of what I could afford. Just so you feel better, my vet recommends Purina - so go figure. Each to his own decision and his own wallet. |

| Cole loves Science Diet. My vet recommeded it and I have been using it since I brought him home almost 2 years ago. Growing up I had a Shih Tzu who lived to be a healthy and happy 15 year old, the whole time eating Science Diet. Good Luck with your decision! |

| I kept my poodle and my german shepards on Science Diet until each one was 2 years old, after that I used to feed them other brands of dog food... I used to do this 'cause here in Brazil Science Diet is one of the most expensive dog food for sale... but once in a while I changed back to SD... I think SD is great! Never ever I had any sort of problem feeding my furkids w/ it... And that's what I'm feeding Maggie with... |

| I've always fed my dogs Science Diet. I used it before I switched Vets. The Vet I have now told me he wished all his patients were as healthy as my four. That sure was a compliment. He now feeds his dogs SD and so does the Vet Tech.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | You will get many different opinions here about what dry foods are good and bad. My advice is do the research on nutrients and find one your furbaby will actually eat. I have wasted alot of money trying to find the healthiest food. Problem was, the healthier the food, the less likely they were to eat it. I finally went to a local pet store and asked if they had any food samples. They did, we tried them and found one they actually will eat. Here is a link to all you need to know about the different brands: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...ndex.php/cat/1

| My toy poodle was on Science Diet for nearly his entire 15 years. It was what the vet recommended for his health issues. His was a "prescription" one though. While it's not the BEST one, IMO, it's certainly not the worst. I had to give Tatum the I/D formula for a week or so when she got tummy upset after I switched her as a baby from the food the breeder had her on. I tried really hard to do it gradually but she picked the new stuff out. Making that switch too quickly gave her tummy problems and the vet gave me the I/D which is basically just a very bland diet for that kind of problem. I also give the T/D formula as treats occasionally to Tatum and Stormie (our Aust. Shep) - but mostly to Stormie. I think it's a good treat - the T/D formula is the "teeth cleaning" one and I believe requires a "prescription". As for regular food, Innova was one that was raved about on YT some time ago and that's what Tatum's been on ever since. Good luck finding one that works best for you!

| Before I knew any better I fed my poodle Kibbles and bits.... Of course, no one is born knowing these things. I feel LA now and they love it! I also think that eating something is better than nothing.

| I was using Nutro Natural Choice puppy and Science Diet Puppy small bites, and now I'm using Nutro Natural Choice adult and Science Diet Adult small bites......I looked at the ingredients of the Nutro and I'm going to list them because I'm hoping they're good enough for Brandi.....she eats both well.....is definitely thriving so I hope I'm doing the right thing...... Turkey Broth, Turkey, Beef, Liver, Chicken, Wheat Gluten, Brown Rice Flour (Durum Semolina enriched with Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Niacin & Ferrous Sulfate), Dried Cranberries, Peas, Natural Flavor, Salt, Sunflower Oil, Guar GUm, Sodium Phosphate, Tricalcium Phosphate, Brewers Dried Yeast, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Carbonate, Fish Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Sodium Carbonate, Caramel, Iron Oxide, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin E Supplement, Ferrous Sulfate, Sodium Ascorbate (source of Vitamin C), Dried Chickory Root, Beta Carotene, Taurine, Choline Chloride, L-Carnitine, Copper Protenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin B12 Suplement, Vitamin D3 Suppliment, Potassium Iodide, Biotin, Riboflavin Supplement (source of Vitamin B2) Manganour Sulfate, Sodium Selenite. then it goes on to list "Guaranteed Analysis" It sounds good to me......I know a lot of the things in there are good. I hope I'm doing the right thing for Brandi..... |

My furkids Donating Member | Science Diet isn't the greatest food to feed your furbabies...They have comparison charts and ratings charts here somewhere...you will notice SD doesn't get a very high rating...My Parents have their Mini Schnauzer on SD because she has ALOT of health issues...it doesn't have alot of the ingredients in it that most "good" dog foods have that our babies need...It's a matter of preference what you feed your dog. I feed the girls Canidae all stages..I feed kibbles and soft..it's a very good food made from human grade products...Vets will try to sell you on SD being a very good food.....Most vets carry this food in their office...Just do you research.
