My toy poodle was on Science Diet for nearly his entire 15 years. It was what the vet recommended for his health issues. His was a "prescription" one though. While it's not the BEST one, IMO, it's certainly not the worst. I had to give Tatum the I/D formula for a week or so when she got tummy upset after I switched her as a baby from the food the breeder had her on. I tried really hard to do it gradually but she picked the new stuff out. Making that switch too quickly gave her tummy problems and the vet gave me the I/D which is basically just a very bland diet for that kind of problem. I also give the T/D formula as treats occasionally to Tatum and Stormie (our Aust. Shep) - but mostly to Stormie. I think it's a good treat - the T/D formula is the "teeth cleaning" one and I believe requires a "prescription".
As for regular food, Innova was one that was raved about on YT some time ago and that's what Tatum's been on ever since. Good luck finding one that works best for you!
