| need some help Today I decided to to trim down macys coat cause it so cottony and thick I figured she would be more comfortable. Well after I finished grooming her I was spraying her down and combing thru her cpat and I notice a really weird spot on her hip towards her rear. It is about the size of a nickle and is slighty bluish in color . it also feels a lil leathery it doesnt bother her if you touch it and I havent seen her scratching there is also no hair in that lil spot. Any idea what it could be. I left a message at the vets but its after hours. |

| Gosh I dont know what it could be. I know there is a condition called leather ear where the ear gets leathery and hair doesnt grow there but I dont know if she could have that on her hip. Good luck and keep us updated on what the vet says.

| Well i have been looking up rashes on dog sites and it looks like it may be ringworm. Wont know for sure till I see the vet tommorow. This is not good because I have 4 kids and a shepherd and from everything I have read it is contagious!! I am mostly worried though because my sister is due in 2 weeks and she is always by my house. Has anyone else dealt with ringworm? |

| Im charging up my camera right now. I should be able to have a pic for you soon. God I am hoping and praying it is not ringworm. I have carpet in the family room and the babies room and my room. We just tore up the carpet in the living room, the girls room and the hallway. Do i need to get rid all of it? |

| Just wait to see if you have it before you have a panic attach...you will it get through it trust me, its just not fun, but I did get rid of my carpet but not because of it, but it is easier if you don't have carpet. I hope I can help you as much as possible..I didn't know alot about it either...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My dtr got a guinea pig years ago and it had ring worm. Then because Iwas the one taking care of it I got it. Ir was much easier to get rid of on me than the GP. I had to take it every week for a while for a sulphar? bath and it was a whitel peruvian long haired GP and he would come back yellow and then I had an ointment I had to put on 3 times a day. We did get rid of the ringworm and my dtr never did get it. It couls also be a little bacterial infection. my Pom gets those and they are round and almost blackish around the edges and the hair falls out. I just have to put panalog cream on them and it's not contagious. Hopefully that's what it is. Good luck

| If she does have it you need to isolate her from the rest of you...which I know is almost impossible but that is the only way for it not to spread..

It is not red anywhere. There are lil brownish spots that kinda look a lil crusty but not raised. Almost like when a kid doesnt wash behind his ears and then you have to go and scrub it lol. I know wierd but thats what it reminds of. It also feels kinda of leathery and it is kinda bluish. | |
