ring worm is gross but it's not actually a worm it's like a skin virus they can give you a topical cream to put on it and it goes away pretty easy. from the pic it looks really big i don't think it's ringworm it looks like a skin infection to me but i'm not a vet i would take her in asap because if it is something serious you don't want it transferred to you or anyone else. I had a boyfriend in highschool who was a wrestler and he used to get ring worm all the time from the mats but i though it was a relitivly small circle perfectly round and raised on the edges and it is highly contagious also like the size of a pea or smaller than a dime but not sure if it can get that big good luck and let us know what happens!

It actually looks biger in the pic than it really is. I would say it is a lil smaller than quarter.

Ringworm can get to be the size of a quarter, I know we had it for 4 months, my daughter went to her prom looking like a pokadot...she is dark skin and naturally had to go to the tanning bed to get darker well it turn out pretty bad were she had gotten ringworm it didn't tan..I really don't think it is ringworm, what I remember the most was it would red and not moist but not leathery either...Thank God your are going to the vet tomorrow, but I don't think it is, there was a post not too long ago about it, and she did have it let me see if I can find it, so you can look at the pics....

whew!!! Thank you so much for all your help i really appreciate it. I checked all the kids from head to toe and dont see anything on them. Cross your fingers it is just a birth mark or maybe allergies. I feel a lil bit better but will still keep her away from at least xaro and the kids till I see what the vet says. THANKS AGAIN!!!

The post I found wasn't ringworm, but I would have bet money on it that to me is what it looks like not that big at first very small & grows...she probably just has a birthmark or something bactria, if you or your kids had it, I know 100% it looks like a little (top of you pinky finger) hickey, if that makes sense...

It may be because my shepherd has allergies and he has a hot spot which is actually finally clearing up. They dont look the same though. We just got done spending over 200.00 on xaro for his allergies which seem to get worse every year. The vet wanted to put him on steriods but I said no at least not right now.
i will let you guys know what the vet says tommorow keep your fingers crossed it is not ring worm. Thanks so much for all the help

Xaro's allergies have gotten worse with every year. His spot is near his groin and down the inside of his leg. The problem we have is that he is constantly licking it which aggravates it, he has licked it raw in some spots. Another friend of mine whose shepherd has similiar problems has recommended putting that atheletes foot spray on it. It was posted on a shepherd forum spraying bitter apple on it will keep them from constantly biting at it.
