| Did Anyone Wash Furbaby Before Getting Spay Stitches Out? My aunt's Yorkie Zoie stinks!!! I'm Yorkie sitting for 2 nights, and she's smelly!! I won't put her in a tub of water, but can I cover her stitches (which she has like 2) with dressing and a bandage, and wash her with soap and water? I'll try to keep the water off the stitches/bandage. Please, somebody tell me they've done this and everything was okay! I need to bathe her! Thanks!

| do you have any doggie deodorizer like Nature's Miracle or doggie cologne you could use? I can't bathe Google until Friday because of his stitches, so I'm cleaning his face and paws with a facecoth and sprayng the rest of him with something that will make him 'stink pretty' until bath day. |

| My aunt did put some baby powder spray on her, but she smells like those people who pile on a scent to cover up a bad scent! LOLOL Also, she tears profusely and her face is all wet. I just HAVE to bathe her.

| maybe you can cover the stitches with vaseline and then a bandage type thing and just make sure to dry it super well if it gets wet at all. My first dog had the dissovable stitches, so I didn't have to deal with it. I'm hoping my second one will have the same kind of stitches - she'll be getting spayed at a different vet. good luck! omega |

| There are some "wipes" on the market that are designed for a dry bath. Perhaps try these and see how they work. There is also an eye wipe for the face. Hope this helps.

| I wouldn't risk it. Getting the stitches wet can cause them to break down and it could cause problems... (ie. The incision could open up or she could get some kind of infection). I wouldn't risk it. I'd use a wet washcloth and wipe down what you can while avoiding the incision or go to the pet store and get the "waterless" shampoo or wipes. I just toughed it out with my boy... I kept putting dog colonge on him but he was still smelly (he gets that dog smell REALLY bad - Pixie doesn't though, it's weird). The second we got back from the vet from having them removed he went straight in the sink! |

| I think she gets them out on Thursday. They're not dissolvible, cuz she has to get them removed. I think I'm gonna cover her extra careful with occlusive dressing.
