maybe you can cover the stitches with vaseline and then a bandage type thing and just make sure to dry it super well if it gets wet at all. My first dog had the dissovable stitches, so I didn't have to deal with it. I'm hoping my second one will have the same kind of stitches - she'll be getting spayed at a different vet.
