| Yes, I've also come across the suggestion of rotation for the same reasoning, but it seems that people who do this have picky eaters and the dogs stop eating foods routinely because they know they will get another to try. It's like we are teaching them to be picky. Also, some dogs have such sensitive stomachs changing dog foods can cause digestive upsets. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I feed CAli 17% protein due to her Liver condition. I'm not sure where I got that number but I try never to go over that.

| I'm really no good at all these comparisons but my boys eat California Natural Lamb Meal & Rice formula. The dry food is minimum 21.0% protein and 11.0% minimum crude fat. The canned food is 9.0% minimum crude protein and 7.0%crude fat. How does that measure up in the scheme of things? Is there something better that I should be trying for them or maybe mixing in for a change? |

And I'm also a little confused about the whole 5-star vs. protein system. I feed Nutro (a mixture of chicken meal and oats, and lamb and rice small bites), which only rates a two, but it says it has 21 percent protein and 12 percent fat, which is as close to the ideal range as any of the other foods. I'm still thinking of trying rotating -- if I can find a food I'm happy with. At this stage, I think I'm going to talk to my vet. But not sure if that's going to do good. Somebody said their vet recommended protein of 24 percent or higher for their Yorkie.

| I have feed all my dogs Natures Logic it is 100% natural. When I got our little Yorkie boy he ate and vomited many times on the food the breeder sent us home with. I transitioned him to Natures logic He loved it...no more vomiting, stools are great, all vet checks are A+ and his coat is beautiful |
