You should get a food that is as close to these ranges as possible. A deviation a couple of points is not going to matter. However, if a food is 15 or 20 points over the desired amount, that is where you'll run into problems. Obviously the foods in the 6-star category on the dog food reviews site are extremely too high in protein for our little inside lap dogs. These foods are meant for outside working dogs, like sleigh dogs.
