| Acana Duck & Pear? Has anyone tried this food? Or the Acana Lamb & Apple? Dig your pup like it? How'd they do on it (runny eyes, poo, etc.)? I'm considering a switch to one of these and would appreciate any opinions. Bonny

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-petfoods.html I do raw one meal and Acana/kibble the next. Riley thrives on that. | |

| Speaking of I can't wait to have Peanut try the Lamb and Apple!! P.s I remember Britt saying the Duck/Pear was a little smaller than the normal Acana.

I can't make my mind up which to try first, but my munchkins have just never been crazy about lamb so I'll probably go with the duck, at least at first. I think I've seen Britster post about this food, but I couldn't find a thread when I searched real quick. I'll definitely get in touch with her. Thanks again!

I think I was one of those Mom's that has the chunky kid in school, but she just kept stuffing twinkeys down their mouth and wonders why they are obese with diabetes! I changed my ways that is for sure! What are your munchkins on currently?

But I stopped feeding it when I brought Dolly home. The kibble was just too much for her tiny mouth and missing teeth so I switched to NV....I really want to keep them all on the same food if possible. I'd heard these 'new' lines were in a smaller kibble size, so fingers crossed!

That's how I first found Acana - food allergies in my Alexander (RIP). Thankfully, none of mine currently have any signs of food allergies or sensitivities! But, I really like the option of being able to feed Acana products again - with lower protein and fat levels than they were getting before.

I know! I wish they made smaller kibble in general- I cut Peanut’s Acana into ½’s for him.. He seems to enjoy it a lot more~

| We've been feeding the "new" (to the US anyways) Acana foods for a few months now... We did two bags of duck & pear, two bags of lamb & apple, one bag of chicken & burbank potato, and now back onto lamb & apple.... So we've been rotating between them. Probably will put one of the grainfrees back in the rotation but we've had SUCH good results from the Singles line (only one grain: oats). He does BEST on lamb & apple, followed closely by duck & pear... the chicken & potato one gave him much bigger poops, and a bit softer, but other than that no major problems either. But I think he may have some sort of intolerance to chicken, so we may bypass that formula in the future. I put him back on Acana after experiencing him itching more, getting more eye goop, less energy, bigger and more poop, and a lackluster coat after a few months on some lower protein lower fat grain inclusive formulas. Once we were back on Acana for a few bags, I immediately started noticing changes for the better. I've never seen his poop look as good as it does on the lamb & apple, LoL... Also he has not grown tired of any of these yet, he LOVES the taste and will eat it voluntarily without wet food (though I do still give him mixed with wet for breakfast). My ONLY complaint is the cost. It's a bit pricier since they are geared towards being limited ingredient and the bag is a bit smaller (the kibble is also a bit smaller in lamb and duck formulas). I think I pay $18.99 for a 5lb bag of lamb & apple and $19.99 for a 5lb bag of duck & pear. The chicken was the cheapest, as it's part of their Classic line, I paid $13.99 for a 5lb bag of it (the kibble was also bigger in this formula). And I used to pay $15.99 for a 5.5lb bag of Acana grainfree. Oh and I have the opposite problem, Jackson generally prefers larger kibble, so it's a shame the chicken isn't the best formula for him... as it's the biggest kibble and he definitely preferred it more! But still loves the others, it's just funny I can tell he enjoys going over more and crunching.

Britt- Can you do us a favor and take a pic of the kibble size (Lamb and Apple) If you can.... Peanut doesn’t seem to do well on “Chicken” either-

And I don't give any food or treats except for an occasional carrot, green bean or a tiny peice of Stella & Chewy's treats. After reading about Brit's scare with Jackson and other stories like Peanut's, I wiped out all bully sticks and treats in the house.
