| Update and food question. Hey everyone! Hope all have had a good weekend with their pups I have a couple of questions regarding food products . I currently have dex on taste of the wild ( Sierra formula). This is all that dex has had since I have had him, other than diamond food that the breeder had him on prior to me getting him. He seems to like the TOTW, but he has been having a lot of Tear staining. I am not sure if this is genetic, or from the food. Also, like someone else's post my baby is defecating A LOT!!! I dont know if this is normal or not. I am feeding him the recommended amount per the manufacture and he is eating 2x a day. Has anyone fed their babies this food and had similar issues? Can any of you guys/ gals recommend another food brand ? Thanks!!! |

| How many times a day does your baby poop? I see from your previous posts that he is 6 months and 3.5 pounds. When Max was a pup, he usually eliminated 3 times a day. My younger boy has a fast metabolism and still eliminates 3 times a day. In my opinion, food manufacturer feeding guidelines recommend feeding too much. My boys are active and have never needed the amount in those guidelines. Plus you have factor in any addition food and treats you give your pup. Treats can have a significant impact on pooping. Are the poops firm? Tear staining can be caused by many things, so it is hard to say if it is the food, allergies, or something else.

| Jackson ate TOTW Sierra and it probably the best he ever did on a food. He is 16lbs and very active and was eating 1/2 cup per day (but he was also getting treats and bully sticks and wet food). He had almost zero tear staining while on it. He pooped 2-3x a day. 3x if he was more active.

| After 4 different kinds of food, Moses is consistently eating TOTW Wetlands w/ roasted fowl. He poos between 2-3 times a day and his eye goo seems to be less. He eats a little less than a half c per day. I am relieved that he is eating. I am also taking him to day care less because it's the day after day care when he doesn't have an appetite.

| My Chloe is on Royal Canin, she has no tear staining...very little tearing of the eyes at all. she does have 3 to 4 BM's a day though, depending on how much running through the house she does. I do follow the vets advice and take a warm cloth each morning and wash around the outside of her eyes making sure to stroke the hairs all away from her eyes. My vet says having a hair poking her in the eye will cause excessive tearing and an eye infection quickly. |

| Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I may start shopping around for a different food? I'm only hesitant because dex really likes his TOTW food. |
