| Seperation anxiety or what? very since I have had him, 12 weeks old he gets very upset when I have to crate him when I leave. I am usually with him all the time as I am disabled and unable to work, and when I leave I take him when I can, but if I have to go to a Dr appt or the grocery store it is not possible for him to go. I have tried just leaving him in the bathroom instead of the crate, that doesn't work either. He tries to bite and growls when I place him in the crate. He sounds like a tasmanin devil!!! I live in Ga, and when I purchased him he was flown to me in a crate from Minnesota. I am not sure if that was just so traumatic for him, that is why he acts this way or what. I hate it when he is this upset, any ideas? Owed by Harley- Christy |

| I am also having problems with my little guy he hates being in a pen and also hates his crate. I try to put him in the crate and pen when I am at home and he does fairly well but I have returned on several occasions to be met with barking when I exit the elevator I'm really worried that my neighbors are going to start getting mad at me

| Does he sleep in his crate? My oldest little girl, Ally, got extremely emotional when we put her in her crate when we left the house. She barked, jumped her crate across the tile floor, and had a runny poopy mess when we returned. She hated being away from us. It was really terrible. My family room (tile) was puppy/dog proofed because I left my older pek in there (she couldn't be trusted on my carpet). So finally we gave in and put her in the family room with our pek. We put a puppy pad down and everything. I taped them to the floor so she couldn't carry it away. Well, when we came back, there was no potty on the floor, but it looked like someone had a pillow fight with the puppy pad. She never pottied on my floor when we left. She was still young and we left for hours at a time. Mine potty outside and sleep in crates. The next problem was that she pottied in her crate at night. As soon as I moved it upstairs beside my bed, she stopped that too! They hate being alone. Don't make a big deal when you leave. Maybe you could give him a treat so he has something good to think about when you leave every time. I leave the TV on sometimes so they think I'm just in another room. Good luck with the separation anxiety. It takes a while. |

| instead of a crate; buy a playpen; it's a bit roomier and u can put his bed and food and pee pad in there; it's like a little room for them and they are confined; i got mine from petco and i think petsmart might have it too; it's a metal playpen with a gate that you can lock. it helped a lot when my dog was a puppy.

| I also had this problem. We are always together so he would get really upset when I left him. ( he also figured out how to open his crate). I started going outside and leaving mine alone for short periods of time several times a day (not in crate). He started getting used to this and now he is much better when I leave him. |
