Does he sleep in his crate? My oldest little girl, Ally, got extremely emotional when we put her in her crate when we left the house. She barked, jumped her crate across the tile floor, and had a runny poopy mess when we returned. She hated being away from us. It was really terrible. My family room (tile) was puppy/dog proofed because I left my older pek in there (she couldn't be trusted on my carpet). So finally we gave in and put her in the family room with our pek. We put a puppy pad down and everything. I taped them to the floor so she couldn't carry it away. Well, when we came back, there was no potty on the floor, but it looked like someone had a pillow fight with the puppy pad. She never pottied on my floor when we left. She was still young and we left for hours at a time. Mine potty outside and sleep in crates. The next problem was that she pottied in her crate at night. As soon as I moved it upstairs beside my bed, she stopped that too! They hate being alone. Don't make a big deal when you leave. Maybe you could give him a treat so he has something good to think about when you leave every time. I leave the TV on sometimes so they think I'm just in another room. Good luck with the separation anxiety. It takes a while. |
