| I'm using it right now and have been for about 2weeks and am starting to see an improvement. Yes, it has Tylosin in it which is an antibiotic. I am going to use it until the tearing and staining clears up and then will stop. I hope it works b/c I've tried everything from ACV, to reg vinegar, to distilled water etc. I think I am going to try the distilled water in conjunction to the Angel Eyes to hopefully boost effects. Good Luck, I've been dealing with eye gunk since the day Snickers came home to us.....not fun Snick & Viv

| In most cases it's something you have to use for the life of the dog, but you can cut back the frequency when you add it to the food after month. It usually works in most cases, it also clears up staining everywhere, just not the eyes. Just be careful of knock-offs, we buy it direct from the manufacturer, since they are only 10 minutes from us. Verify the source you get it from. |

| I am trying to decide between Angel Eyes and Eye Envy. Sophie has a little staining near her eyes and mouth area. I read here that Angel Eyes works well. The Eye Envy comes in to play because I understand it has no antibiotics in it. Any thoughts on the better product?

| I really don't know much about Eye Envy, I couldn't find an ingredient list when I searched the manufacturer website. |

| angel eyes has tylan powder in it and it is the lowest dose antibiotic for ibd, colitis etc so if you use this and your dog gets this your dog may be immune to it when you need it as just like humans dogs can get immune to antibiotics. IBD, colitis, and gi upsets are very common in this breed and metronidazole is a higher dose than tylan powder and metronidazole does not have an anti-inflammatory agent like tylan does so always best to start with tylan if you can get it compounded Eye envy has colloidal silver, witch hazel and one other ingredient it is escaping me but i use this and much safer than using an antibiotic. Tylan is a lower dose than metronidazole and it is used in chickens mostly - has a bitter taste and i was instructed to wear gloves when making capsules as affects human membranes Tylosin |

| I used Angel Eyes for two weeks and it completely eliminated the problem and I have now discontinued usage.

| Tear staining is usually caused by low grade bacteria infection in the tear ducts, normally caused from excess tearing. (Some dogs are prone to it). From my understanding of Tylosin, is that it kills the bacteria infection. From Angel Glows website.. "Our active ingredient is a macrolide antibiotic considered as narrow-spectrum because it is active against only a few specific bacteria, therefore it will not develop imbalance or resistance in the animal’s immune system." This is the interesting statement.. "It is important to take the macrolide antibiotic exactly as directed to make sure the infection goes away completely, even if symptoms resolve sooner. Failing to take the macrolide for the entire period can cause the infection to return or can cause the bacteria to become resistant to the macrolide the next time it is taken." I think that's why it's recommend to keep administering it, for the lifetime of the dog. So if the dog is prone to excessive tearing, you're not allowing the bacteria that's already in the system to build a resistance to it. |

| tear staining can be from blocked tear ducts per opthamologist so if you see your dog having big tears come out then that is usually the issue - the stains are the tears sit on the hair and bacteria builds up so if you clean daily with eye envy that should be sufficient rather than taking something internally - i would treat externally before internally |

| Interesting...I've never tried either the Angel or Envy, but for several weeks have been using the Kissy Face Pet Facial and it's done an excellent job on Harley's dark areas, both eyes and mustache. It brightened her face up within the first use and to my knowledge, there is no medication in it.

| If your planning on using Angel Eyes I would recommend you wait until your dog is one year old. It can affect their teething. If you have a pup he might be staining due to his teething it will lessen when there done teething. Try using spa facial scrub everyday works great with my puppies. Nice kissable faces. Antibiotics should be last resort.
