| Warning .. a little gross, poop question My little rescue Chihuahua, Kozanna, doesn't stay in one place and poo-poo like other dogs. She will just drop "it" anywhere she is standing or walking, in little pieces. (Sorry, that's the only way to explain it.) Sometimes she does poo-poo like other dogs, but mostly it's just scattered around. She does squat like normal to pee-pee. She only has a little stub of a tail and no one knows why, so she may have had some kind of injury when she was little, or at least before she was taken out of the puppy mill at nine months. I don't think her hind legs are as strong as they should be. She sits and squats a little crooked. This may be a result of starting life in the puppy mill and spending nine months in a little wire rabbit cage. She will pee-pee and poo-poo if you pick her up. I have seen timid dogs that would urinate when picked up or touched, but never one that would poo-poo out of anxiety. Just wondered if anyone has ever seen a dog that does this. Kozanna has settled in pretty well and responds to me, but is still timid and afraid. I've had her almost six weeks now. I keep a diaper on her when she's out of her crate and she doesn't mind. She weighs 3.9 pounds and is very sweet. She likes to be wrapped in her blanket and snuggle up on the couch with me and Lacy and Cosmo, my Bichons. She gives me kisses. My vet checked her over when she was spayed and didn't see any obvious injury. I will keep an eye on her, of course, and have my vet take a look at her if it appears she needs attention. I'm giving her all the good food she wants and seeing that she gets gentle exercise and lots of love. |

| I had a rescue chihuahua that was terrified of my fiance and lived in my closet (this wasnt somethign I made him do, I dont want anyone to think I forced that on him.) he just wouldnt come out and every time my fiance would look at him he would poo himself. I felt so bad for him that I had to give him back. It killed me but this just wasnt fair to him to live like this. I tried so hard to make it work and tried to associate my fiance with something positive with this little guy but he was so scared of him. I think about him alot I loved that little guy so much

| Riley does a walking-poop. She will assume the position and then walk while crouched, leaving a trail of poop pieces. Is this what your Chi does? |

| Franklin does the "walking poop" too! It's frustrating because it squats ON the potty pad, but then walks around and misses it. I've read about many other dogs on YT that do it... I think it's a Yorkie thing. Sounds like you're giving her lots of TLC! Keep it up and I'm sure she'll warm up in no time.

| Otis does the poo and walk thing too, its almost like he doesn't have the time to stop to poop so he walks while he poops. My mom has a 4yr. old yorkie that used to poop when he got excited, like when people came to her house, but he grew out of it, so maybe yours will to.

If that was the case I would have no yorkies. He was just so traumatized here that he was unhappy and scared. I tried to help him and waited it out for a long time hoping he would get over being so scared but it just didnt work. I do have his sister Lizzy who wasnt phased at all. She does have her little quirks but nothing fear related whatso ever.

| I wonder if the woman who had Kozanna right out of the puppy mill realized that she was doing this. She did not tell me about it. She had her for 10 days so surely she knew. It wouldn't have made any difference, but she might have told me. The day I picked Kozanna up, she messed all over me, my hands, arms, and shirt. If I had known she had that problem, I would have wrapped her in a towel or blanket. The woman who had her could have taken some precautions, too. She just picked Kozanna up and handed her to me, saying she was very scared at the vet's office and pooped herself. This woman has only responded to one e-mail I have sent her since I got Kozanna almost six weeks ago. I wonder if she's afraid I'll ask her to take Kozanna back. I think Kozanna may very well grow out of it and get relaxed enough not to do it any more. At any rate, I'm dealing with it and will give Kozanna lots of love in the meantime. She's a sweetheart and deserves everything I can do to give her a happy life. |

| Coming from a puppy mill, that's no surprise. Most of the time they have to poo right where they sleep, with the grates there to hopefully have it go through. So sad.............. Good on you for taking care of her. But Jeanie does this too (not from a puppy mill at all)........so I'm sure it's part a yorkie thing too |

Yes, she will pee and poo where she sleeps, but she is getting better. I've seen her turn her little backside to the outside of the crate to poo, making it drop on the outside. Poor little girl, she learned that if she did that, she at least might not have to lay down in it to sleep. She rarely stops and poos like ordinary dogs. It usually just happens. | |
