Warning .. a little gross, poop question My little rescue Chihuahua, Kozanna, doesn't stay in one place and poo-poo like other dogs. She will just drop "it" anywhere she is standing or walking, in little pieces. (Sorry, that's the only way to explain it.) Sometimes she does poo-poo like other dogs, but mostly it's just scattered around. She does squat like normal to pee-pee. She only has a little stub of a tail and no one knows why, so she may have had some kind of injury when she was little, or at least before she was taken out of the puppy mill at nine months. I don't think her hind legs are as strong as they should be. She sits and squats a little crooked. This may be a result of starting life in the puppy mill and spending nine months in a little wire rabbit cage. She will pee-pee and poo-poo if you pick her up. I have seen timid dogs that would urinate when picked up or touched, but never one that would poo-poo out of anxiety. Just wondered if anyone has ever seen a dog that does this. Kozanna has settled in pretty well and responds to me, but is still timid and afraid. I've had her almost six weeks now. I keep a diaper on her when she's out of her crate and she doesn't mind. She weighs 3.9 pounds and is very sweet. She likes to be wrapped in her blanket and snuggle up on the couch with me and Lacy and Cosmo, my Bichons. She gives me kisses. My vet checked her over when she was spayed and didn't see any obvious injury. I will keep an eye on her, of course, and have my vet take a look at her if it appears she needs attention. I'm giving her all the good food she wants and seeing that she gets gentle exercise and lots of love. |
