| Do it yourself grooming I took Foxy to the groomers today, the last time she was there they did an excellent job..today not so much..her face looks choppy and spiked, not happy...so I need to learn to do this myself..Can anyone recommend everything I will need, products and such to do this? Thanks in advance..

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I groom my 3 and learned as I went. I use a good shampoo and conditioner like Pet Silk or Bio Groom. I use Chris Christensen and Madden pin brushes and combs.

| I trim my two a little every week when they get a bath. That way I have the week to critique what I have done and want to do and they get practice sitting still for me. I use minksheen and a conditioner during the "winter"-Fluffy Puppy tearless on their faces.Everyone comments on their shine! |

| I use Therapet Fresh Scent shampoo, regular pantene conditioner. I just got a hands free blow dryer for dogs and a grooming table...makes all the difference in the world. I have little battery operated clippers from dog.com for the nose and eyes and sanitary area and I use people hair cutting scissors from CVS (pharmacy) to even out his length. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ree-dryer.html As for the how-to...trial and error!

I use Chris Christensen shampoo & conditioner (Day To Day) and Madan brushes and combs... I scissor Riley... I have a pair of straight shears and a pair of thinning shears. I bought a small pair of Wahl clippers, for his sanitary area, which are fairly quiet, but I'm too nervous that I will knick him with them. I need to watch some videos on that. It is pretty much all trial & error but I am always Happy with how he turns out. I have heard so many horror stories... I figure if I'm not... I will only have myself to blame and be upset with. | |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Foxy's adorable, but I think she may have cut the sides a little short, this page gives you some tips on cutting the face, and they do a rounder cut. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Grooming which makes the face look a little softer.

Foxy is adorable and her hair will grown back out. I hate groomers who don't do what you ask, that is one reason I just taught myself and do their grooming at home now.

One thing, I am so afraid to do anything with clippers or scissors because she's just such a wiggle worm. I have trimmed the hair off the bottom of her feet but she has 1/2 asleep when I did it. Any suggestions??
