| Brushes I had a question about grooming brushes. Can the human pin brushes ( we call them vent brushes) be used on our furbabies or are the pins spaced differently?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | They can but I found the ends were sharp and scratchy. I use the Chris Christensen pin brush and love it. It is pricey but worth it.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Most of the human pin/vent brushes I've seen have the little balls on the tips. The tips will damage a yorkie's coat, it's better to use a pin brush with no tips. Chris Christensen, #1 All Systems and Greyhound are 3 different brands that offer the tipless pin brushes. All 3 brands work about the same, IMO. Btw, puppy matting is normal and is just difficult at times to deal with. The best way I found to keep the matting to a minimum is to brush/comb a puppy everyday. This also helps get them accustomed to the grooming process, that will be life-long.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Another good brush is the Madden brush; many of the show breeders use them. I agree the human brushes with the little balls will break the hair. Madden Brushes for Dogs

| I recently ordered the Madden brush that ladymom, a member here recommended and it's great. It's also a lot cheaper than the Chirstensen brush and Bailey is much easier to groom now.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I was ready to order the CC brush, when Ladymom, said that she has both and prefers the Madden, that sold me especially with the price difference, it's about half.

| I love the Madan brushes! I stopped using my CC Gold brush and sold my brand new Fusion as soon as I got my Madan. A member on another forum sells them at dog shows and is much cheaper than Lainee, Ltd. Cindy sells them for $16 plus shipping. PM me if you want her email address. Here are the Madan's. I love the colors, too! I got Lady a pink one. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I use the #1 All Systemspin brush, we got it from Pet Edge,it was only about $8.00 and seems to work great, what is the difference? Is it in the bristles themselves or the actual brush handle and backing ? My breeder [who shows yorkies] suggested the one that I have, her dogs all have gorgeous coats. |
