I had one from Target that was just under $10.00 it looked nice enough, but the pins scratched my arm when I brushed it down my arm, the Madden brush doesn't do this. Since you have to brush really close to the skin, you want a brush with smooth pins. On some dogs, with an undercoat, this doesn't seem like it would matter.
