| Yorkie To Give Away? I may be having to move soon and probably won't be able to take my yorkies with me. Does anyone know the procedure to adopt them out? They are both girls, been spayed and both a little over 1 year old. They are very spoiled, have their own room and run the house. I am not 100 percent sure I have to part with them, just trying to figure out what to do when the time comes. I hate to wait until the last minute to decide what my options are. |

| Find a local Yorkie rescue. With all due respect, don't take in any more animals until you are in a permanent situation where will not need to give them up. |

| One in every crowd! There has to be one in every crowd! Maybe if I had someone intelligent like yourself to tell me a year ago that I would be getting divorced and having to move, I wouldn't have gotten them! |

| Thank you breeze, trust me, they won't go anywhere if I can possibly keep them. I have them so spoiled. They have their own room and more clothes than I do. Strollers, car seats, playpens, they have it all. I thought this would be the best way to find them a good home (if they need it). |

| I don't know where you're going, but alot of places will let you keep small animals if you pay extra in your deposit and/or rent each month. If not try to get a friend or relative to take care of them until you assess your situation. One place my son lived had a "no pets" clause, but it looked like nearly half of the apartments had a cat or small dog. Good Luck to all of you and think positive thoughts!!!! |

I have a friend that worked with a Yorkie rescue and they did a very good job of finding homes for the dogs turned over to them. Try some of these links and maybe someone can put you in contact w/a rescue in your area. My friend worked w/Marilyn at the organization in the 1st link. She has a big network and might be able to point you in the right direction. Welcome to Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. | I mean no disrepect but if you really care about your little ones then I would highly recommend turning them over to a reputable rescue. They are trained to ask the right questions and to match the right home to your dogs. There are certain things a rescue would never do and questions they would ask to find out if your dogs would be going to a safe home. Did you know that Yorkies are used as bait in dog fighting rings? What if you put them into a home with little kids and one of your dogs bite the child (Yorkies are not the greatest with kids) and now the Yorkie loses it life. If you are just trying to recoup the $$$ you put into them....

Donating Yorkie Yakker | C'mon girls, be nice. This lady sounds like a very loving Mom to her babies. She doesn't need criticism for being smart to check out what might be best for the little dogs. |

| There is NOTHING that would make me give up my babies... They are my family. Can you really logically get rid of your Babies????????? You can find a place that rents to small pet owners. Or put them in a kennel while you look for a place!! You will be sorry if you get rid of them.. |

To the OP...Good luck finding homes for your dogs. I'm sure your life has been turned upside down by divorce. Having to rehome your dogs must break your heart. I know you'll find them a great new home!

| You are so right. People should not say things when they don't know the situation. I'm sorry you're going through a hard time. I know with the economy like it is, there are probably going to be a lot more people having problems like this. I know if I would happen to lose my house, I would be having to rehome 6 dogs, and I would hope people would not condemn, but, would try understanding. Until you walk in someone elses shoes, please don't say negative things. I can tell this is very hard on you, and I hope and pray that things work out where you will be able to take the girls. if Not, maybe if there is someway, I could take them and keep them for you until you're able to get them back |
