Look, I am not going to apologize because I feel very strongly about this issue. Pets are a commitment for the lifetime of the animal. I volunteered professional services to an SPCA organization back in the NE. I was truly appalled at the number of animals turned in by owners having babies, new boyfriend doesn't like pets, moving and can't take them etc. etc. Some of these animals are lucky but many are not. Luckily you have Yorkies and they are desirable animals to adopt.
I have a friend that worked with a Yorkie rescue and they did a very good job of finding homes for the dogs turned over to them. Try some of these links and maybe someone can put you in contact w/a rescue in your area. My friend worked w/Marilyn at the organization in the 1st link. She has a big network and might be able to point you in the right direction.
