| why was this thread closed for posting Tiny Stud Wanted (Central Florida) I am not making this thread to end up to be a drama thread.. so could you just reply with a descent post.. as I am seriously wondering why. Just wondered what was wrong with this thread.. to me it is networking on the forum..some breeder talk and some info some may like to read. Sometimes I see threads that I think will be stopped.. then they keep going.. Then others, cannot get a report in quick enough. Some breeders breed small and come on here for help and everyone jumps in.. another person does not even say what size there female is and is just asking who is out there that they may work together..I see nothing wrong in this personally.. Some times I just do not get it. I just see a lot of inconsistency and would like to know how others feel.. was that thread that bad.. where I have seen others that go for pages before being stopped.. anne |

| It says that it is against YT rules to advertise a stud or request one. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...uidelines.html #11 Last edited by marcerella02; 09-01-2008 at 04:25 PM. |

| I did read the rules.. but at the same time.. I found it interesting to see who was who on here I guess..so I was suprised when it closed that is all.. Breeders network all the time, and sell babies on here, talk about their lines.. so I guess when it comes to breeding this is the only thing not allowed then.. So I was curious.. and you are the only one posting a reply to me.. Like bad breeder sections.. it does make one see a lot more and learn a lot more of what is out there and who is out there..thanks anne |

can i ask why it is not allowed? i actually never knew it wasnt..i would have assumed it was ok..since we are allowed to advertise puppies..and when breeding has occured and selling adults and rescues whats wrong with looking for a stud? this would be THE BEST place to look for a yorkie stud...with THE BEST people.. im just curious not trying to start a debate or anything

| Soliciting stud service is not allowed, per YT rules, which I can completely understand. I would think that is probably why it was closed. |

I have seen people post they would like to buy a yorkie under 500.00 and people have gotten so mad.. then a few days later people are pleading, looking for someone to take in a rescue or a yorkie of their own that they can no longer keep..instead of people just saying If you watch you will surely find one needing a good home..they get upset and say it is in the rules..or it is not allowed..I am sure there are others that are here that see threads and wonder like I do once in awhile.. I did not come on here to sells yorkies,I personally would never say never, but would that not be classified as soliciting also. anne

I don't know why it is a rule, but I can come to my own conclusions for why I think it's a good idea. With studding comes contracts, with contracts often come shady people and deals gone bad...I can understand admin's desire to remove themselves from being tied to that in any way. Likewise, I remember the rule regarding asking for Yorkies at low prices was implemented at the request of MANY members. The reasons for such are pretty clearly explained in the rule section where it's mentioned.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I personally am glad they don't allow such a thing as advertising for a stud. I would hate to see YorkieTalk to become a Mecca for poor breeders. A good breeder doesn't advertise for a stud. There's absolutely nothing wrong with networking and getting to know other breeders and their programs, but you should have a through knowledge of the breeder you choose, and some of these people will take any dog available, not my idea of bettering the breed.
