| Mia is SICK and in the hospital, and the vets don't know what it is!! any ideas? I have been up all night! I had to take Mia to the emergency hospital last night after she had horrible diarrhea and vomiting all in the bathroom. She has been sick for the past week. It started out as vomiting, then the vomiting stopped, and moved just to diarrhea, and last night it was both. She was on pepcid and metaclopamide *sp for nausea. I thought she was getting better because yesterday afternoon, half her poop was diarrhea and half normal. I decided to give her a bath, but then she had orange, mucusy diarrhea all in the tub. I had to clean it up and give her 2 baths then. I kept her in the bathroom with Yoshi in case she had another case. I heard and smelled something right before I was asleep and checked on her. She had diarrhea and vomit EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. I separated her from Yoshi. I moved her in another bathroom and she continued to vomit, but this time bile and foam. She proceeded to vomit more than 12 times last night, so I had to take her to emergency. She stayed overnight last night with IV's to remain hydrated. Last Wednesday, the vet did extensive bloodwork/testing, and NOTHING. He did a fecal sample for worms, and NOTHING. Then last night, they ran another fecal sample, and NOTHING. They did an x-ray last night, and NOTHING! Ok sorry this is long, I just want to see if any of you have had similar problems, or heard of something, or can help me think of what may be wrong with her!!! I am freaking out because she has NEVER been sick or had problems! (She is 2 years old and weighs 5lbs.) I don't know if what she has is from my (relatively) new pooch, Yoshi. But, I had him for 2-3 weeks before she started getting sick, which is weird, if thats the case. PLEASE HELP, and if nothing else, PRAY for my baby!!! THANKS!

| I do hope your baby starts to feel better soon. I can only guess that this just might be a virus? My boss' cat had similar symptoms that went on for weeks. The vet somehow thought it was an obstruction even though nothing showed up on x-ray. They took the little guy to surgery, opened him up and found nothing. They put him on a prescription bland diet and he got better on his own a few weeks later. Please keep us posted!

| Well, Millie has done this 3 times in her 2 years of life. The last one was the worst. They did tell me they thought it was a protozoa (bacterial/germ) that she picked up from something she ate (it could have been anything: like something outside or a pig ear/chewy that had been sitting around for a while.) So they gaver her pills. she had a set of 3. One for the vomiting, one for the bacteria (antibiotic)and one for the diarreaha. I have a friend who has a schaunzer who went thru a problem just like this and the vet told her it was semenila (sp) and she got it from something the schaunzer ate. Could have been anything. My friend says her schaunzer likes to feast of bunny poo.

| NOW Yoshi is SICK!!! I just came back from dropping a friend off at the airport to find that whatever Mia has, Yoshi has. There was vomit and diarrhea everywhere. He had some blood specks in it. I am sooooo worried. Now both of my babies are sick. With him, I am scared because he is sooo tiny! He was 1.3 lbs at 7 mos. two weeks ago. Please, anybody, if you can help, or know of similar situations, please let me know!

| I am so sorry you are going through this. I don't want to alarm you even more...BUT this seems very scarey now and I do think you need to bring Yoshi to the VET ASAP. This is very serious now...He is very small and could go down hill very fast. Please bring him to the Vet now. This has got to be a virus and he needs to make sure he is getting fluids. I know nothing about parvo, but I would be worried about it at this point |

| First - I am so sorry your babies are sick. I know it's horrible and you feel helpless. Xena had a similar episode a month ago - it was caused by flea medication poisoning. I hope you all feel better soon.

| Yeah, I called the animal hospital where Mia is and they said they could only see me at 3:30, which ticked me off. So, I thought about it and called up there again and talked to a different lady that said bring him on up and they will fit him in.... so YAYY! I am headed out to the animal hospital! PLEASE KEEP MY LITTLE BABIES IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS!! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Sounds like a bug. My guess is that the vet should give some antibiotics, doggie pepto to settle his and her stomach and fluids. When Lulu had her last booster she got sick with diahrreah and throwing up. I gave her about two days treatment with pepto and a bland diet and it stopped. The vet tech who I am very friendly with suggested that it was a reaction to her shot. When I looked it up it was indeed a possible side effect of the shot. Not sure if your babies recently had any vaccines. I was also told that they can get a puppy flu (not sure what causes it but it can happen) Praying for you and your babies. Hope it works it's way out of their systems fast.

| Are you sure there is nothing in the yard they might have gotten into or eaten? Other than that, I have no clue. I'm sending prayers for both your babies. Please keep us updated.
