Do we have an update on Brooke? I cried for you and Brooke when I first read this 2 weeks ago for about 30 minutes. My baby has a disease that is not curable & I am so attached to my girl. I feel your determination to help Brooke live comfortable & pain free. Can you let us know how you & Brooke are doing?

Hi everyone!
Brooke is doing much better. She is now running and walking. She can stand when she goes the bathroom now!! Yeah!! She still walks a little crooked but she is back to being the sparkling personality she had before. She has been going to acupuncture once a week and I have noticed a positive effect each time she goes. She has alittle more energy and walks straighter after going for a session. She is still on prednisone and phenobarbitol but the vet thinks we will start reducing her doses soon. Which is good because one of the side effects of prednisone is increased hunger and thirst. And Brooke has gained alot of weight!! She is a little chunky monkey! She also goes to chemo every 4 weeks but there are no side affects from the chemo. Thanks for everyone's kind thoughts and continue to send them our way!! Brooke is the little engine that could!

Way to go Brooke, you have a great caring mommie!!! Just so you know, Toby is going on 16 and has been taking 1/2 a pill of prednisone for about
8-10 years (I'd have to ask the vet the exact date). Yes he eats and drinks alot more, but I find him more energetic and happy. I don't think prednisone is as bad as people say, or maybe just certain dogs react different to it. Please post a new pic of Brooke. I'd love to see a new pic of her. Keep fighting Brooke! You can beat this!
