Puppy may have worms! I took my puppy to the vet's today...She was acting weird, like she was drunk. She was really wobbly and dazed. Vet ruled out hypoglycemia...It may be worms, but we'll have to wait for the blood and fecal samples to come back. He prescribed SENTINEL (for worms and fleas). Is this like a dewormer? Also, I think I should disinfect my house, but with what? I used Pinesol for the time being, but I wanna make sure that every last bit of those nasty SOB's are outta here! She had runny stools and I noticed some long slivers in her poop. They weren't as thick as "spagetti", but looked more like thrread (?). Anyone had this problem before? (I dropped this sample off at the vet too.) I'm so paranoid right now...I don't want to see her feeling so miserable.

how come they didnt do the fecal while you are there? it only takes a minute to look in the telescope and see what they have.. disenfecting i would use bleach and lysol every where, wash all the bedding or where they sleep, or cuddle and spray all the furniture, any clothes on the floor wash them in at least warm water i keep a bottle of tradedwinds tape dewormer at home, i can get a great deal on ebay, $10.00 for 5 pills, if i suspect anything i give 1/2 pill then and the other 1/2 in 3 weeks like my vet prescibes Good luck hun

My Stormy had Tapeworms 4 weeks ago. I saw it in her stool, brought it to the Vet. Vet gave her 1/2 pill of a Tapeworm dewormer. & also gave her another dose this week. I also noticed She wasn't gaining any weight at the time either. They get it from ingesting a flea 3 wks earlier. I had just got her from the breeder 1 wk before this. Stormy seems to be OK now - she is gaining a little weight now. Your FUrBaby should be fine - Just follow your Vet instructions. Clean with Bleach solution.

| My Vet also said to add some cooked Rice in their kibble when they have Diarhea. I give them some Pedialite or Gatoraid when they have runny poo.

WOW!!! I paid $10. for 1/2 pill at the Vet! i know i know!! whenever i took a puppy to the vet for tapeworming i spent $100.00 at least well..i hated that so now i just keep it here and give it to them to prevent it from happening. when i sold my puppies they were all dewormed with the regualr stuff hook/whip/round wormstuff and then i dewormed them for tapeworms because they were leaving my home and i dont know if the new surrounding were flea free or what, also my dogs go outside and they have frontline but im not taking any chances so they get it from time to time (like every 6 months) I also get my flea prevention on ebay..i got the spray bottle of frontline 20.00 BUCKS and it last forever!!

Okay everyone... Here's an update: I have yet to hear from the vet, but Jinju pretty much slept all evening and into the night. This morning she seemed lots better. She must have been really hungry b/c after she ate her kibble, she inhaled about 1 1/2 tablespoons of cottage cheese! I'm just glad she's feeling more energetic today/ I think the worm meds have already started to work...Thank goodness! What a scare we had last night. I mean, she was like a ragdoll in my arms yesterday... Thanks for all the advice. YTer's are the BEST!!!
