| Zoie Has An Ear Infection Well, my aunt had to take Zoie to the vet for her initial check-up. The vet said that she had a very bad ear infection!!! It couldn't have been just from the flight over here because it was too bad he said. She had black gunky stuff in her ears. That's what was making her eyes water so bad. Poor little Zoie. Being that there was a health guarantee on Zoie, shouldn't my aunt get reimbursed for the meds? Please let me know what you believe is the protocol for an instance like this. Thanks!

| Poor little girl!!!! I hate that she doesn't feel good. She is just precious, by the way. In my opinion, since the vet said that she had the ear infection BEFORE she was shipped, the breeder should be held liable for the meds. In a non-confrontational way, I would get your aunt to call the breeder and tell her that Zoie has an ear infection that the vet said she contracted BEFORE she left the breeder. Get your aunt to fax the breeder documentation from the vet and a phone # to the vet that the breeder can call in case she has any questions. I am sure if all of this is done, the breeder should consent to paying for the meds. I think the key would be going about it the right way in a nonaccusing, nonconfrontational manner. The breeder may not have known that Zoie even had an ear infection, you know? But that doesn't let her off the hook...she should still be liable for the bill, IMO. Let us know what comes of it! |

| Oh poor baby!!! I hope she feels better soon. Could you image being on an airplan with an ear infection? BTW, she is really cute. |

| I think your Aunt should be reimbursed for the costs of the medication. Glad her new baby got the care it needed. |

| I agree with the others that the breeder should be responsible. I also agree with the non-confrontational manner that it should be handled. I am sorry your baby has an ear infection. I read that feeding your them plain yogurt is great for clearing up and preventing infections. Hope your baby is better soon.

Annika had yeast infection in her ears when I brought her home and my breeder thought it was ear mites Since they pointed it out to me I figured they wanted me to follow-up on taking care of it as they gave her a few medications. I hope someone will be able to answer your concerns. | |

Oh, and no, she's not a puppy, technically. She's 9 months old.
