| Atopica question again😢 Hello everyone,we are four weeks on Atopica medicine,I can't see any improvement still😢,how long we have to be on it before we see improvement? She still gets those little allergy pimples on her body and she still itches(not as bad as before)I called manufacturer of Apoquel (Zoetis)to ask about Apoquel and they also said that she can't use it because she is under 3kg(I'm confused),I said that in America dogs under 3kg are using Apoquel and she didn't believe me😫.Whats the dosage for the dog up to 2kg on Apoquel? Also I was hoping when Monoclonal allergy shots come to Uk we could try that as well but person from Zoetis who are manufacturing those injections as well said she won't be able to use those injections as well 😭.Im really concerned now, what I would do if Atopica is not good for her?Which path I should take? |

If you look at the apoquel prescribing information written by the company, they have a dosage table, but it doesn't go under 3 kg. However, in the written cautions, they don't say that dogs under 3 kg shouldn't take it. Here is the link to the full prescribing information: https://www.apoqueldogs.com/apoquel_pi.pdf I suspect that they don't have dosages for smaller dogs in the table because they don't manufacture dosages that low. I didn't see anything to indicate that smaller dogs can't use it, though. | |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My Marcel is about 2kg and has taken Atopica and Apoquel - is now on Apoquel. His Vet Dermatologist treats small dogs alllll the time, and used both meds. Marcel takes 1.8mg.

| There is an injection that is fairly new that is now being used. I have an allergic pup who we had put on Apoquel with great success; but, she is young and I didn't really want her on the Apoquel for the rest of her life. A friend of mine had told me about Cytopoint and I asked my vet about it. They had just ordered it...so my Hannah is their first case. She had the injection two weeks ago. She immediately had relief of her itching and is still doing well. I am very excited about it and hoping it will continue to work for her. https://www.zoetisus.com/products/do...fakBoCCoXw_wcB
