| Poor baby. How old is she? Did the vet do liver function tests? Head bobbing is usually related to neuro issues, which can be caused by liver function problems such as shunting. The neuro issues can also be seizure activity with numerous and sometimes unexplainable causes.

| You mentioned the vet "flushed her out." What do you mean? Is there any chance your pup got into something, ate something toxic?

| I am very sorry for your recent loss. Sadly, liver shunts and neuro issues are relatively common in Yorkies. The good news is that if caught early, they are usually treatable -- I'm basing that on a lot of success stories I have read. Treatment is expensive, but many pups go on to live full, happy lives. What did the vet advise? I would guess further blood tests.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | The incidence rate of *neuro* things is unknown - but not an uncommon malady that is posted here in Sick n Emergency. Nor is liver shunt - which unfortunately is pretty common in Yorkies. I do hope your vet does BATS testing to take a look at her liver functions. I am so very sorry for the loss of your other dog -and do hope your current one regains her health.

| I would advise you to get your pup to a specialist, so that any more money you spend, will be directed towards getting an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. This is not something you want a vet to be guessing about, or trying whatever comes to mind that may treat something they do not know what they are looking at. Contact the breeder you got this baby from IMMEDIATELY. This is where your reputable breeder comes in real handy....you will have someone knowledgable standing with you, providing emoptional support, financial support, possibly replacing a puppy, etc.....You did get a health guarantee with your baby, outlined in your contract??? This is a blessing, a contract and a health guarantee, as you will soon see. You must let the breeder know because she needs to know what is happening with a pup produced by the specific breeding pair.... |

| Hi, I agree, please see a specialist. I have a liver shunt baby she had liver shunt surgery and is now 2 1/2 years old. Nero issues can be related to liver shunt. She needs meds and a diet to help stop the Nero issues till surgery. Prayers for your little one.
