I am very sorry for your recent loss.
Sadly, liver shunts and neuro issues are relatively common in Yorkies. The good news is that if caught early, they are usually treatable -- I'm basing that on a lot of success stories I have read. Treatment is expensive, but many pups go on to live full, happy lives.
What did the vet advise? I would guess further blood tests.
