| Could be his ears, or worst case, something neuro. I would have your vet take a look as soon as possible either way. Any other symptoms? Do his ears smell or does he paw at them?

| Yeah I think take a sniff in his ears. If it smells funky he could have an ear infection. Uni's been scratching at her left ear, but I use ear cleaner and her ear doesn't smell. I had a foster once and he had an ear infection and boy did it stink!

| Could still be an ear infection if it is a definite head shake and not a head bobble. Heat wouldn't cause head shaking. If he seems fine in every other regard, I would wait until tomorrow and call the vet to have them take a look inside his ears. Best to take care of it sooner rather than later because ear infections can get bad. Sending best wishes to Duncan.

| If he is shaking like dogs do when they get wet, then it is very likely his ears. They need to be checked. And the longer that he does the shaking thing, the higher the chance of getting a hematoma (blood pocket between two layers of cartilage) in there. Then you'll have a lot more to deal with. So best to get him in quickly. If you mean his head is bobbing, then it's an emergency.

| We are fine! Thanks for asking. I would take Duncan into the vet if it were me, just to be safe.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | Could be that he has water in his ears from his bath. Check inside the ear, if it smells funny or looks a bit waxy then give them a clean. If the shaking carries on I would take him to the vet because he may have ear mites, Poppy had these when we first got her and she would constantly shake her head and scratch her ears.. but not all dogs react the same as my other dog caught them from her and didn't shake or scratch at all.
