Could still be an ear infection if it is a definite head shake and not a head bobble.
Heat wouldn't cause head shaking.
If he seems fine in every other regard, I would wait until tomorrow and call the vet to have them take a look inside his ears. Best to take care of it sooner rather than later because ear infections can get bad.
