| Make believe injury My one and a half year Yorkie, Chester was sleeping yesterday and woke up and was holding his front left paw up in his body. He did not fall or injure himself, not that I was aware of, but he had me so scared. I live in an area where there is an emergency vet office open all weekend, 24/7. I wrapped Chester up and drove in the pouring rain to get him there. The vet sat on the floor with Chester, checked all his legs and did not find anything out of the ordinary. She put Chester down on all his feet and let him go and he walked directly to me, no problem. Chester was faking yes faking as he did this once before and i should have known better. Got Chester home and he was jumping and running around with no problem. Beware of Faking Yorkies...........Thank goodness Chester was okay.

| Ha! Too Funny!!! Peek a Boo did this at the vet's office, right after his yearly exam! The vet had just given him a thorough once over, and I put him on the floor, and he immediately began to limp! Well, back up on that table for you little man! The vet was very concerned and began to access his right front leg. And of course she could find nothing! She said put him back on the floor to check his gait...and viola! No problems! She thinks he enjoyed his exam and didn't want to leave just yet! I think that too. Silly pups! Don't ya just love 'em!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | When Joey was a puppy he jumped off the couch without using the steps, if I hadn't seen him do it, I wouldn't have know what caused the problem and I would have thought he was faking the limp too. It was on and off for a day or two, and by the third day it was gone, but I really don't think dogs know how to fake an injury, something hurting them for a second, it could even be a toenail. If it continues on and off for three days, I would see a vet.

| Do you suppose he was sleeping on his leg funny and it fell asleep for a little bit? That might explain the short time injury. I don't know if dogs limbs fall asleep, but it seems logical! Too bad they can't talk and tell us!

Yeah, this incident resolved in seconds! We awarded him an Oscar! I was very lucky that at least he did it while we were at the vet's office, and luckier still that she actually saw him doing it. She saw me place him ever so gently on the floor, no slips or anything, and then we did discuss his previous history with the 3 day injuries... she double checked his knees, no pain and only very mild luxation, which she said is typical of the breed... and she checked his feet and toes... He's just an old man (13 years) and just loves people! And especially the vet, it seems!

Lol, how funny, Yorkietalk member alaskayorkie (Mike) taught Eddie to do the limp trick. Here's the thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/my-...trick-vid.html and here's the video.
