| Our new puppy is sick :( I picked up Bailey yesterday around 3 and the lady said she hadn't fed her much that day so she wouldn't get car sick on the 3 hour drive home. She slept pretty much the whole way home and when we got here I introduced her to Carson.. they ran around and played for probably an hour or so and then settled down a little. I tried to get her to eat some of the food that the breeder was feeding her mixed with Innova puppy but she wouldn't eat any. I gave her some nutri-cal also.. So anyways last night she threw up like 4 times and this morning she had REALLY bad diarrhea (looked like there might have been some blood in it??) She still hasn't eaten any food.. I even boiled some chicken breast and smashed some hard food up and mixed it together, she still wouldn't touch it. She drank some water about 15 mins ago and literally 10 seconds later threw up yellow liquid. She's been sleeping all day and doesn't want to play like she was last night when we brought her home. I've been giving her a little bit of nutri-cal about every couple hours (can you give them TOO much of it??) She does have a vet appt at 3:45.. just wondered what you all thought ..

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Have you taken her to the vet. Most breeders have that vet check window. In light of her being a bit sick I would do my best to get her into the vet before it becomes worse and you end up at the emergency vet and pay an arm and a leg.

| Get some Pedialite and force some down her as she probaby needs this ASAP. Also, maybe some Baby food - The Gerber Organic Turkey is good b/c it doesn't contain onion. Also get some of the baby powder rice to mix in |

| Did the turkey on your sandwich have any Mayo or anything on it. As my mum gave Alfie some chicken from a tin and he had the most awful tummy upset from it.

| Get a zip loc bag and see if you can get a feces sample to take with you. This puppy is really sick and I do hope the Vet. finds the exact cause and can help her. With Parvo on the rise again it just may be that. I sure hope not. |

| Probiotics/ acidophilos will help sooth the baby's tummy if its just stress. Either way, its good for a puppy. I highly reccomend you get some and give it to her sprinkled on her food. Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

| The vet said he thinks it's just stress.. he tested for parvo and is was negative He gave her an antibiotic shot and sent me home with something to help with the diarrhea and another antibiotic, as well as Hill's ID soft food (she ate a whole bowl full when we got home) So I think everything should be fine.. she's in the other room running around with Carson trying to bite his tail (it's not docked) Thanks for all of the concern and advice.
