| Mickey's pee has slowed down a bit today... I been watching him pee again every since we got up, and each time has only been a few dribbles, hes a little quite today, he dont seem to be in any pain as of yet, But I think the crystals has blocked him again. We are heading to the vet in the next 30 minutes . I will update when we get back. keep him in your prayers please. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope Mickey is Ok. Cali is going to the vet tomorrow to see if anything more can be done for her scratching and I am worried she has a UTI again as well.

| Oh gosh, I wish poor Mickey would get better...Did they test to see what kind of crystals they are? One thing that I have started for Miko is: half an organic celery stalk juiced or blended, whatever you can do. It has really helped him pass the stones that he already had in his bladder, and it's very good for urinary tract health no matter what kind of stones/crystals the dog might have. If he doesn't like the juiced celery taste, add a little lowfat organic yogurt to it. Whatever flavor you want. We use Stonyfield organic plain or vanilla. And add water to the celery to get him to drink more water. We saw immediate results with it, and I know several people whose yorkies have/have had bladder stones that do this and have seen great improvement. Also, make sure he's getting enough water. With stones/crystals, the urine should be diluted as much as possible, so if your baby eats dry food. Make sure you give equal parts water with equal parts food. You can put the water in the dry food, let it soak, and then serve. Also you can give him snacks like watermelon which have very high moisture content. I'll be praying for little Mickey! Please keep us updated on his condition...

| We just got back, Mickeys not doing so good, hes in so much pain and is worse than when he went in. They sedated him and said he was blocked again. they got a few of the ctystals out , but he has so many yet. He s**t all over all the way home and is whinning and throwing up. and straining so hard to pee but only blood comes out, I called and told them I was bring him right back in, They said no giv eit time, hes sore from where we went in through his penis, give him a baby asprin for the pain and see how he does through the night. Well how the heck am I going to do that. Im following behind him wiping up the blood and the poop. and hes just in so much pain. I wish they would just do the surgery, what they are doing dont seem to be working for him. My daughters on her way here with baby asprin,I hope that helps with the pain. They also gave me some different can fod called C/D PRESCRIPTION and hes to be on that the rest of his life. Im not having much luck with getting the S/D Prescription down him now how am I gonna get him to eat both of these. This is his third trip to The ER Hospital vet and hes not any better. |

| Gosh I'm so sorry to hear Mickey's not doing well. Only wish there was something we could do to help. I just don't know enough about this problem to even offer any advise. But I can offer plenty of thoughts and prayers, and hope you find an answer to this real soon.

| Here are some herbal remedies that are in my naturopathic vet book (note the herbal pain reliever suggested down at the bottom): "Herbal Relief: Specific herbs are helpful in dissolving bladder stones and acidifying the urine. These are Hydrangea, Stone Root, Gravel Root and Corn Silk; the dose of the combined herbal formula is .2ml per 5 lbs of the tincture given once daily. "Vitamin C: This acidifies the urine and may prevent the recurrence of bladder stones and bladder infections. Start with a low dose of 100 mg per 10 lbs daily. "Clean Water: You want your pet to drink as much as possible, but chlorine will often deter adequate water consumption. Give your dog or cat filtered water to encourage drinking and avoid the chlorine. "Struvite Stones: In most cases of bladder stones and bladder infections, the goal is to acidify the urine; this prevents the recurrence of the most common bladder stone, struvite. Diets higher in protein are more acidifying; specific veterinary diets are designed for acidification. A higher protein homemade diet is also suitable. Use all the prior remedies to accomplish acification. "Oxalate Stones: In a small percentage of animals the type of bladder stone is called calcium oxalate, which forms in acidic urine. If this is your pet’s problem then the goal is to make the urine more alkaline. This is performed by lowering protein levels, and by adding a supplement, potassium citrate. "Fluid: In all cases of infections or stones, additional fluid intake is mandatory in treatment and preventing recurrence. For dogs, add water to their dried food. "Homeopathic: A homeopathic medication called Cantharis can provide some symptomatic pain relief from urinary tract infections. The dose is two 30C pellets given twice daily for 3-5 days. "Chinese Help: We have used a Chinese herb in our practice for dogs with recurrent urinary tract infections. Ba Zheng San is the most effective. This is a mix of herbs which are both antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. The dose of the concentrate is 1/8 of a teaspoon per 10 lbs of body weight twice daily." Going by the above, you must first know which kind of stone it is before trying any of the preventative measures because one is to make the urine more acidic and the other is to make it the opposite, more alkaline. |

| I havent even asked what kind of stones they are, But I will. Mickeys not getting better, hes seems to be losing a lot of blood I called the hospital back and left them a message. I think they hurt my baby. when I talked to him earlyer he said just give it time, and yes you will see a little blood because when we went in it gets irratated and can cause a little blood,I was thinking what he said about when he pushed the cathidar in he really had to push hard because of the crystals blockage, what if he pushed it on through. I mean last time they did it we never seen all this dark blood. well as the hours go by, theres no urine just lots of blood, I had to crate him because he was getting it every where. I called and talked to a man about the recall food, he said that their food was not on recall, but that dont mean that thats not what it is, he said with a lot of the dogs that are dieing they too are full of crystals and they are going through the same thing, crystals in the bladder the vet washing and washing and he said all that is doing is causing more suffering for the animal. he told me how sorry he was and how sorry he felt for my dog, he said if the dates I took my dog to the vet are in the recall time frame and it is in his bladder I need to get a kidney test dont by them taking his blood. he said if he has kidney damage they will pay my vet bills, but if not they cant. he also said if it is the best thing to do for him is let him go,,,, he said if both my dogs became sick at the same time, it might be the dry food, I cried and cried. We dont have the money for all these test. and I dont know whats wrong with him, I just know what the vets did is not helping and Mickey is worse than ever. I think I might be losing my baby boy.we have took him to the Er Hospital 3 times now. and I have put it all on my creditcard. Im not asking for money , just lots of hard praying for my little man. |

We are here for you, if there's anything we can do, let us know. We may even be able to help raise some funds to help Mickey... I can't do it alone, but if enough people are willing, I bet we can.
