Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have VPI and thye do not cover pre existing, congenital or genetic conditons which unfortunatley 2 of my babies had, but so cover accidents and other illnesses. Cali just ate a latex toy and had 2 visits one to er and one to regular vet. The bills were a little iver 300.00 I got a check from them for 220.00. When Cali was real sick as a puppy her vet bills were over 7000.00 and most were for pre existing hypoglycemia and liver shunt (genetic) but due to other tests and other covered conditions I got back over 1200.00 I can't remember exactly anymore. I haveit for piece of mind with 3 Yorkies if one were to break a leg, get real sick I know I have insurance to help. Mine cost me 66.00 a month for the 3 of them. I know people say just put that money in the bank for emergencies and I know I wouldn't so this works for me.

| I'm considering it, well actually leaning toward the yes. My feelings on it are, I have insurance for my family, why not my pets. $20 a month stretched out is a lot easier to handle than $1000 or more right away.

| After doing the math, we determined that it wouldn't be worth it.

| This poll got my hubby and I talking last night. We decided that we would open a health care savings account at our bank for Wednesday. That way instead of paying the insurance premiums we would just deposit it in a savings account and let the money grow that way down the road if something was needed the money could be accessed a lot easier right through the bank than having to wait for forms and any circumstances where the insurance would not pay up. Too bad the money won't be tax deductible. This might be a good idea for others to think of too and a lot cheaper than putting bills on credit cards and taking money away from the regular bills.

I Love Thor Donating Member | I had V.I.P insurance on Thor the first two years of his life! Boy am I glad I did, and yes it payed off. He got a snake bite, and a 'S' hook through his eye lid...Gosh, I don't think that's all, but thank goodness for insurance. He is living with my parents now, and I don't have insurance on him, so I hope he stays away from snakes this summer and has grown out of his accident prone stage. |

| I dont have it per say, BUT, home again micro chip gives you insurance if your pet is injured. I never knew that but alot of the micro chip comapnies are getting on board with this feature and so are the auto insurers as well. you can put a rider on your auto insur to cover your pets. I never knew that either. Progressive has full coverage included for pets and now several other companies are doing same. just food for thought.

| I took it out as soon as I got Buddy at 14 1/2 wks. I cancelled it when he reached 1yr. I figured, going by past experiences, after the puppy stage(accidents, etc) I would be safe. Well I was wrong. I cancelled it in June 05 and he was hospitalized in Oct 05 to the tune of 2,200.00. No insurance. I did pick it up again and I won't be without it. Better safe than sorry. |
