| Are you a Kitchen Cabinet Cook? Are you good at creating recipes from ingredients on hand? Alex (my DS) claims I'm excellent at this concept Maybe we could swap "ingredients" and farm for ideas! Michelle guided me yesterday to use my leftover boars head jerk turkey (deli meat) in enchiladas! They were wonderful Anyone else need some help with "on hand" ingredients??

| I would not say I'm excellent... but we don't starve around here. lol! I really hate any kind of box food due to all the junk preservatives and stuff in them. DH has gout so I have to watch the shellfish... I LOVE Shrimp Scampi, so as not to hurt him, I made Chicken Scampi! Yum! DH is always saying: Did you make this? Or, Where'd this come from? I'm like see that thing... called a fridge... and those things called cabinets? They have stuff in them that when you mix a few items together and cook it for a bit, it makes dinner! Lol!

| I think where others see "cans" or "spices" or "veggies" I am able to see a meal... I'm learning that not all can do this. But there are some ingredients that I either need to Google or "call a friend"

| I improvise a lot. My hubby is so very picky. His diet consists of a list of "tried and true" items - he doesn't like change, chicken, fish or pork. He is a beef and 'taters kinda guy. Biscuits and gravey. Pinto beans and cornbread. Making Mexican Cornbread to go with the pinto beans is RADICAL in his life. Oh yeah, did I mention that he doesn't "do" leftovers? I get very bored cooking the same ole same ole -- so often I cook two separate meals - a single serving from scratch for for him and a meal with leftovers for me. |

| Sometimes I'm very good at it, other times I get very stumped. I knew a lady that would go to the grocery store and always buy the same produce for the most part, and whatever meats were on sale. I don't think she ever planned a meal, sans holidays, but the things she'd whip up were delicious. I'm still learning to use everything I buy and not waste anything. I'm getting OK at it, but not great. I'm hoping one day it clicks in my mind. |

| I get very creative and start throwing stuff together. The funny thing is when my husband really likes it and asks what did I put in it and I can't tell him lol! I love cooking and try to make healthy stuff

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I do some times but believe me they aren't alway wonderful ! My DF hate it, but my rule is "You eat what I fix or you Don't eat" . I have come up with some really nice meals, and was shocked when I got a compliment on my cooking. Rarely does that ever happen. You would think I raised a bunch of heathens. I always have some cream of soup on hand. When in a pinch you can alway figure something out.

| I don't use cookbooks so I guess in a way I improvise but then I shop based on what I cook so I very rarely have odd ingredients. I so sort of fly by the seat of my pants so mistake have been made. When whipping up something on the fly I will often reach for a cream soup and add sherry or brandy and pound some meat, although I did that with some expensive lamb chops since I was to lazy to light the grill and I don't think that tasted good, but chicken and pork comes out pretty good. Recently I have been using a lot of lemons and pine nuts, but I can't keep pine nuts around or most other nuts because if I get the munchies I eat them all up. Do you guys cook with wine or alcohol, sherry is one of my main staples, I think most things taste better with a splash or two of sherry. I also like to cook with wine, but LOL there is not usually much left for the food
