Seattle Peeps Well, the weather has been quite nice lately, we haven't taken Yoda to the park, but we've been to University Village quite a few times in the past few weeks, since it's just a few minutes away. Where do you Seattle Yorkie owners take your little ones for walks?

| Good Walks in Seattle U. Vill is good for Bella too. I take her into all of the stores with me and they love her! I love to take her around greenlake too. She loves all of the other dogs, and the majority of them are REALLY friendly. Everyone always comments on Bella too...so that's fun. Lately I've been taking her to Matthew's Beach to play and she loves that. There's TONS of good places to take your yorkie in Seattle...even Nordstrom!

Yup, we haven't seen any Yorkies at UVillage for a long time. We go there a lot (we live 5 mins away), Yoda just loves strolling around and getting attention from the nice friendly shoppers!

I finally got a good (cat) harness and tote yesterday at Mud Bay, so maybe we'll try U Village. That's so great that Nordie's is cool about Yorkies! I saw a little dog at the Shorline Sears in the shoe dept. the other day. I hear that Starbuck's is stuck up, but Tully's in Greenwood let me bring Bodhi in. Now to find a grocery store that would allow Bodhi in the tote. Heh, sounds like Pig in a Blanket, huh? OK, that wasn't that funny *feels silly*

Heheh, yes, we've got to be sneaky around Seattle. Home Depot is a big no-no, all Starbucks seem to be anti-dogs, and Wal-Mart doesn't like dogs either for the most part. However, if you are carrying your Yorkie, of he's in your jacket or something, they may allow it. We've had no problems at all bringing Yoda into Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, Tully's, Lowe's (haven't been there lately), Target, pretty much any shop at UVillage (besides restaurants), Whole Foods, QFC, Safeway, and Central Market. But each time at the grocery stores, I was carrying Yoda and made sure he wasn't anywhere near any unpackaged food at all while Yoda's Mommy did the shopping. It may make a difference if you are trying to walk your Yorkie in, not sure about that. And there's always store managers that can give you a hard time if they don't like you or dogs.

I also have not had a problem at most places (malls, grocery stores, etc.), but I always carry my boys in a shoulder bag. I haven't had a problem in grocery stores - the QFC employees come over and pet them. The boys went carpet and kitchen shopping with us a couple of weeks ago without a problem. The only places I know that aren't dog friendly are the home depot and starbucks as fasteddie mentioned. We live in Redmond and Redmond Town Center shopping area is very dog friendly as a lot of the store owners bring their dogs to work with them. My boys can walk on a leash in most stores there. Fasteddie - have you tried carrying Yoda into the home depot lately? I know they have a no dogs sign posted, but I'm curious if they would get mad if a dog were carried or in a bag (I heard the reason they stopped allowing dogs was due to people not cleaning up the messes their dogs made, but this wouldn't be a problem if they were in a bag). We go there all the time and the boys always have to wait in the car I'm not brave enough to try to bring them in yet!

Oh yes, forgot about Redmond Town Center. Oh yeah, Rite Aid loves Yoda too, at least the one near my house! They always ask about Yoda if Yoda's Mommy goes there without him. That place was great for bringing Yoda, he LOVED walking up and down steps and everywhere, it's just so far away to go to on a regular basis. Yoda LOVED laying on a LoveSac! Just wish they weren't so darn expensive! No, ever since we saw the no dogs sign like at least 6-8 months ago, we just haven't been there lately. I used to like them more than Lowe's. I would have thought it was due to liability problems, like people's big dogs (and I've seen many) biting a customer or something... That's pretty darn irresponsible of people not cleaning up their doggy's poop. I guess big dogs have BIG pees too. I could try next time we go around those parts, I feel really bad for Yoda when we get thrown out though. It just feels so wrong and sad... It's my personal opinion that you should be able to bring your Yorkie anywhere besides restaurants if you hold your Yorkie with you and they don't pee or poop all over the place. I could see the business point of view, where if your dog peed on their carpet, it'd cost them money to clean and makes the place look bad and perhaps smell. I guess it's the irresponsible ones that ruin it for the rest of us...

Gee, I thought hardware stores would have been the easiest to take a dog-in-carrier into. No big deal for me. I wouldn't want Bodhi breathing in all the dust and chemicals floating around hardware stores anyways. Too bad there are those who ruin it for us. But like someone else posted: "Cuteness opens doors", heh.

Bruce goes with me everywhere and I mean everywhere. If I think it will be a problem he goes in a shoulder bag, but in Seattle everyone is so great to him! In fact he goes to Madison Park Starbucks every morning and they always give him his own glass of water. I think people are generally reluctant to say anything to me about him because it is obvious I am totally obsessed with him, but at any rate he goes everywhere. His favorite places are Nordstrom, Madison Park beach, and Madison Park Starbucks...

LOL Dartprincess! Yeah, ask your husband what the policy is if they are held and they DON'T pee on anything nor ATTACK anybody. Bruce's Mom: Welcome to YorkieTalk, always nice to see a Seattleite around! There's a playdate tomorrow at Magnuson Park, too! We're deathly afraid to take Yoda into Starbucks, as we've been yelled at a few times, like at Green Lake, even though we were of course holding him as we always do. Tully's loves Yoda though, at least the few we've been to. It's so funny we will choose a Yoda-friendly place to go to if we can!

My hubby was very surprised they didn't let dogs in and told me they put sign up for a liability thing. One of the employees there found poop on floor and ask hubby what do to and he told him clean it up Its a shame ppl dont clean up after there pets it does spoil it for the rest of us. Getting my baby after my Disneyland Vaction from Breeder in Everett thank you for the information I think you or your wife told me about it.

Oh, really, Dartprincess? That's awesome, Dartprincess, please let me know if you know your Yorkies mother and father, as your baby MIGHT be related to Yoda! You're the second person (there may be more as we referred quite a bit) that I know of that has confirmed getting a Yorkie from Yoda's breeder up in Everett! You are very welcome, we're glad you found a Yorkie pup you are happy with! We really should go visit them, they were so nice to us and have given us so much joy and happiness! Have fun on your Disneyland vacation, that should be a blast!

I think someone in Seattle should take a picture of fasteddie so we all knows what he looks like. Afterall, he DID introduce YorkieTalk to us and he deserves to be known. And if he doesn't want you to, do it anyway!
