Fasteddie: Thank you for the welcome! I wish we could have made the play date Bruce needs some Yorkie friends desparately. Unfortunately work has put Bruce and I on hiatus in Anchorage, AK until Mid-August. I sure hope there will be more playdates to bring my baby too, he loves other dogs but I am afraid mom is nervous about letting him around big dogs, dogs that do not look well kept, dogs we do not know are current on vaccinations, etc; so these play dates would be perfect for my little guy!!! Like I said it is only the one starbucks Bruce and I go to, but now I know not to try the others and to stick with Tully's!!!

Two days ago hubby and I were in the Redmond Home Depot (we are remodeling our house and seem to be in there almost every day), we saw a woman carrying a pomeranian dog and was talking with store employees and they did not kick her out. Next time we go, I am going to be daring and bring the boys with us in the bag. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hmm... That's interesting. I wonder how they play since there isn't a fenced in area there. I may have to go sometime and check it out.

We did it! I snuck Bodhi into Freddie's! We went straight to the Rubbermaid section. I kept him down in his tote bag. He had to stick his head out of the tote once to get a closer look at a guy. I guess Bodhi thought that it was my husband. We played it safe and went to the checkout. No roaming. No going near the grocery area. The cashier didn't say anything to us. Yay! *ponders on the next destination*

Hey all! Yorkietalk.com newbie here ... and yes!!! I will be at Magnuson today. Yipppeee!!! I just wanted to let you all know that I have been reading your adventures and though I don't know the North or East end, since I am down in the South (Auburn) I too take my Mecia whenever I get a chance to wherever I go. I just recently bought the carrier bag to take her in but it isn't one that she can peak her head out of. That is next! But I am daring enough to just carry her in my arms if she wants me to! I will see you later!!! I think I will get her in the bath and fluff her up a bit. Shannon

Home Depot Update After seeing a few people carrying their small dogs into the Redmond Home Depot, I decided to bring the boys in their dual carrier. I've brought them many times since and have never had a problem! They even made friends with the man in the door department (Griffin even likes him!). One funny thing that happened though is when we were looking at the carpet samples and there were two young girls in the department as well. One of the girls was giving the other a piggy back ride, so it looked like one girl with two heads. Griffin was very confused as he had never seen anything like this before, so he started growling at them! It was a little embarassing, but to him I suppose it looked very strange

I'm back We found a great park on the water for our 3 yorkies. Its in Edmonds to the left of the Edmonds/Kingston Ferry dock. Our 3 love the beach. I am looking for a studdly fellow for my Tia. Just for a tree night stand. We live in North Seattle and would sure like to meet other yorkies in the area. We will try Magnuson Park this Saturday.

I have been to U village several times as my daughter goes to U of WA . .I have brought Tiger for a walk there and it was really nice . . . quite the pet friendly place. for the most part dogs in carriers seem to be okay to get into most places. However I noticed that there are more signs put up that says "service dogs only" and when I asked they said it is because some staff are allergic to dog hair .. our post office no longer allows dogs as well as my favorite store Joann's . . even if annika is in a carrier | |

OH..I agree about U village. I've brought Piper there many times, although I do put her in a carrier when we go into stores. I did have someone at Starbucks tell me that there were "no dogs allowed" in the store (Piper was in the carrier at the time and chose to pop her head up and give a look around). The shop was entirely empty so I joked "You call THIS a DOG?" and it cracked her up and she served me anyway. We went back in a couple of weeks later...same carrier, different person at the counter, and nobody said a word. Guess it is all a matter of who feels like enforcing rules..and how many bad experiences they have had with other dog owners who were not quite as responsible with their furkids as we may be.
