Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Unisex names shes a GIRL!!!!! Avery is my 15 year old DAUGHTGER and had an ovarian cyst rupture when she was only 13. She was a very sick little girl and way to young IMO to have to deal with girley problems. Anyway she had to get put on Ortho Tricyclen, helps stop the growth of more cysts its main use tho is birth control. SO when I go to the pharmacy (Walgreens) the fill the script, no problem! Then next time I go to fill it they say this can only be prescribed to girls!! Ummm she has been a girl for almost 14 years now and you filled it last month! she said HAP has her down as a male and will not cover this....so we fix it and jump thru all the hoops then next time i go...She is a boy again...Im so pi**ed by this time I wanna smack em!!! SO there I am in the pharmacy SCREAMING at hap on the phone they are arguing with me that she is a boy!! Umm hello I gave birth to her and ALL her functioning parts and TRUST ME she is a GIRL then I screamed I cannot wait til she has a baby...then what are you going to do??? I mean look at her...she was with me in the pharmacy does she look like a boy to you???? She is the one in Black on the right. Anyone have similar things happen to u by having a unisex name?? I dont know but Avery just sounds like a girl to me...but i Have heard boys named Avery too and I like it that way also...

| Unbelievable! I didn't know Avery was a unisex name! My daughter has 2 Averys in her grade and they are both girls! Your Avery is absolutely gorgeous and I can't believe this mix-up! Were you looking around for the hidden camera?

| That is one gorgeous boy you have there! I have just one question for the tech behind the counter: "Um, don't you think the Doc who prescribed this knew weather he was dealing with a boy or a girl?" |

| I'm sorry on top of all else going on that you would have to deal with such a petty thing due to somebody's negligence while typing along the way. Good Luck, your daughter is beautiful

| Your daughter is beautiful and I love the name Avery. Maybe you could save yourself some grief and mail-order her prescription and have it delivered to you My insurance company gives me a break when I order a 3 month supply that way.

| That girl is drop dead gorgeous. I agree with you, sometimes you just have to SMACK EM!! I never thought of it as a boys name but I guess it could be.

| That sounds soooo frustrating!!! I would definitely be upset about all of this considering that you've been through it so many times. By the way, your daughter is such a beautiful girl!!!

| aw. she's pretty. i work for walgreens and i've got to say, a lot of those "issues" are with the insurance companies and the people behind the counter are just messengers, who follow thier orders. i don't know what exactly happened, but i hope this experience will not deter you away from walgreens in the future.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | The name is of Male origin and means ruler of midgets and elfs derived from Avril and Alfred HA There is a coach in the NBA named Avery Johnson also a running back for the Miami Dolphins named Avery Jackson I think I actually got her name from Steve Avery a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves....see I was sitting there, like 50 months pregnant (okay it was only 9) and we (hubby and I) are watching the braves game fighting over names So I just yelled the first name I seen on TV which was "Avery" on the pitchers jersey and we both stopped and were like Avery??? it was like a harp sounded and the fight was over there it was on tv AVERY!!
