| Euthanized Puppies Texas Victoria Advocate! One of my best friends mailed this to Victoria Advocate editorials regarding the write up they had on the front page of their Sunday paper. The article the paper published is posted here by stedmans mommy Gotta Read This etc etc. Some of us are from Victoria and were extremely PI**ED by their article! IN THIS TIME OF POVERTY, PARENTS BEATING AND KILLING THEIR CHILDREN AND ALL THE HORRORS OF ALL THE WARS , SOME IN COUNTRY'S I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF, PLEASE HEAR OUR VOICES. FOR THE PARENTS OF ALL CHILDREN WHO HAVE LOST THEM BECAUSE SOME THRILL SEEKING MONSTER WANTS THEIR FIFTEEN SECONDS OF 'FAME', HEAR OUR WEEPING. FOR ALL THE ANIMALS WHO ARE BORN INTO THIS WORLD WHO ARE THEN STARVED, NEGLECTED, BEATEN AND TOSSED AWAY LIKE TRASH, PLEASE HELP THEM. THEY ARE LIKE SMALL HELPLESS BABIES. I KNOW HOW MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE THERE ARE WHO LOVE AND WORK SO +HARD TO BRING JOY AND HEALTH TO GOD'S CREATURES. MY HUSBAND AND I DO WHAT WE CAN AND FEEL BAD THAT WE CAN'T DO MORE. WE ALSO UNDERSTAND THE EVER GROWING SADNESS OF OVER POPULATION THAT COULD BE SO EASILY CORRECTED. WE ARE ALL AWARE OF WHAT HAS TO BE DONE IF IF ANIMALS DON'T GET ADOPTED. WE ARE IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT ABOUT EDUCATING THE PUBLIC. ABOUT ALL THE PROBLEMS OF OUR ENTIRE WORLD BUT------------ THE VICTORIA ADVOCATE WENT BEYOND GOOD TASTE OR EVEN GOOD SENSE IN THEIR SUNDAY FRONT PAGE AND OTHER FOLLOWING PAGES.SHOWING FRONT PAGE PHOTOS OF A WOMAN HOLDING A SMALL INNOCENT PUPPY WHO WAS KISSING HER FACE AND I IMAGINE , FEELING FOR THAT INSTANT, SAFE AND LOVED. ALL THE WHILE, SHOWING ANOTHER PERSON , HOLDING A SYRINGE TO END THE PUPPY'S LIFE ON EARTH THE NEXT MINUTE. THE LAST OF THE HORRIBLE TASTELESS PICTURES WAS OF THE SAME PRECIOUS PUPPY , ONLY THIS ONE WAS OF HIS OR HERS DEAD BODY. WE KNOW THE SHAPE THE WORLD IS IN AND IT IS THE FAULT OF MAN. WE KNOW ALSO WE'LL NEVER HAVE A SAFE WORLD AND THAT PEOPLE AND ANIMALS WILL BE HUNGRY AND SUFFER AND DIE BUT FOR THE CARE AND CONCERN OF A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO CARE, BUT THERE IS NO NEED OR REASON TO HAVE THAT HARD AND SAD FACT PRINTED ON THE FRONT PAGES OF YOUR NEWSPAPER FOR YOUNG CHILDREN TO SEE OR EVEN GRAND PARENTS LIKE AL AND ME. THIS HAS SICKENED AND SHOCKED MANY, MANY PEOPLE. IF I STILL LIVED IN VICTORIA I WOULD CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION AT ONCE. YOU MUST REALLY BE HARD UP FOR NEWS IN THAT TOWN !!!!!!!!! NOT EXPECTING TO HEAR FROM YOU OR SEE THIS PRINTED BY YOU..ALLEN AND JEANNE MOORE GAUGHAN OF SAN ANTONIO, TX. |

| This is sick and it angers me...what is the world coming too..those people should be euthenized before that poor baby was! The world would be a better place if there were more animals and less people to kill them!

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Good for her, glad to hear she e-mailed them. I didn't appreciate seeing the picture of the lady euthanizing the dog either. However, hopefully SOMEONE out there that read the article will at least realize what a serious issue this really is, and will spay and neuter their pets. Or, if someone is looking to buy a dog, maybe they will think twice and consider adoption.

| Please Spay And Neuter Your Pets! I also found it hard to view but it is a fact and I believe there are some who saw that article that never really thought about what they were doing when they let their pets breed, who gave their child a pup & then either abandoned it or took it to the shelter when the child became tired of it, and I believe there are others who just dropped an unwanted pet on the side of the road. These people need to be forced to see the end result of their irresponsibility and if my reading that article causes even one person to reconsider their decision and keeps one puppy from suffering, I'll feel that pain for just a moment. I, too, lived in the Victoria area at one time and I support anyone that is trying to raise the awareness of the animal cruelty in our supposedly civilized society. Please spay/neuter your pets. If you have the ability, please rescue/adopt homeless pets. If you have the means please donate to your resue groups, no kill shelters and humane societies. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | GOOD POST Doortego !! Really well said and I agree - In our Country - shock value works and to tell you the truth - I think it could have been MORE Shocking to get the point across - I Hated that article - hated what they have to do in shelters but what better way to get peoples attention than NOT pulling punches. Kids who saw that MAY remember it - but, they sure wouldn't remember a printed article with NO pictures. It's sad but true....People work on visuals and that was def an attention grabber. I think it was great that someone had the guts to print it. To help the terrible problem we have with too many dogs in shelters - - that kind of article needs to be plastered all over the media and our laws have to change. |

| I agree with to a certain extent with everything that was and has been said here. However, I am curious to know if anyone here actually saw the paper itself, instead of reading it online>the pictures were deplorable in my opinion. A child would not be reading the paper but looking maybe at the pics, of dead dogs? An adult could understand the full impact of the article, without the pictures, imo. |

| Also nowhere in the article did it give info where to donate or who to write and what to do in order to make Victoria a NO KILL shelter! I live in a much bigger city now and all the shelters here are NO KILL! Why were they not trying to get help making their shelter No Kill??????????? |
