| What color should I paint I am going to paint my office/computer room. I want to paint it a dark color but have no idea what to do? The blinds that are up are kind of a taupe brown. I could two-tone the room too. I have a chair rail all the way around the room that can be painted also. The door and closet doors will be white. Any ideas? I am used to white walls or light color walls, so this is daring for me.

Pear Green! Or Avacado Green. Its a soothing peaceful color I have a pear green room and I love it. My work room is Mandarin Orange (looks like Velvetta cheese- its bright and cheery but not what I would do if I could do over ). I think a carribean teal room would be a nice color too.

| I vote with Annadoodle! Rich, warm colors are fantastic and look great against white trim. Mocha or a deep warm brown with a lighter shade for your chair rail would look fantastic. I would take into account the colors used in the rest of your house though too - I always think there should be some kind of flow....

| I just painted my bedroom an avocado green color and I love it! It is so warm feeling! The color is Sherwin Williams #8114 SILT and is from their Martha Stewart Signature Collection. You might be able to view the color at sherwin-williams.com. I am painting my kitchen and living room from the same palette of colors - Kitchen is going to be Chopstick #8141 and Living Room is going to be Golden Pearl #8150. I am being daring huh??? Be brave with paint...you can always paint over it. I will warn you about yellow tho...it gets a lot brighter and yellower as it dries so go light in your choice. I used to be a paint contractor and I have seen yellow go bad too many times!

| I have a quilt hanging in the hall way and some of the colors in it are forest green and maroon. I though maybe doing half and half. Do I keep the chair rail white with that though? I do like the sound of the coffee colors too. Keep the advise coming, I love to hear it. Shanatink, you think of too much food of your paint colors! Do people get hungry when they come in to your house. That would be funny if you could scent the room with the color!

| We painted our study like a hunter green. My husband put up crown molding and a chair rail and under that is picture frame molding. All the molding is white and I love it with the dark walls.

| I personally like greens and browns. Either a hunter or a dark sage green or just about any brown. I might leave the chair rail white then see if you like it. I think it will look good but if you don't like it then you can try painting it a soft beige or offwhite or one of the colors you used maybe. And Shana I have you ask were you hungry when you were picking out paint colors? You know they always say never go grocery shopping when you are hungry apparently it goes for paint shopping too.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Golden Pearl # 8150... and I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Rattan#8145... I am building a house myself and I am going with Golden Pearl in my house since my hubby insists on stained mahagoney/cherry borders all throughout.. the color scheme looks awesome~ plus my sofas are a nice warm suede so it is a very inviting color.... FYI it is out of the yellows color family... go to www.sherwinwilliams.com you can play with the colors in different rooms.... good luck and post pics! | |
