Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Anyone Own A Drone...??? I need to get an anniversary present for my hubby and someone mentioned getting him a drone. I'm looking at Amazon and am finding that all the ones in the $50-150 range basically have all the same specs, generally...from what I can tell...? (Ghz, fly time, camera, SD card etc...?) But my question is - does anyone have one and what would he even use it for...? Is it just something you fly around for fun or what? It seems like the ones I'm looking at only have up to 9 minutes fly time and that just seems so paltry...? Any advice/thoughts...?

| Personally I hate drones and I think most people get them to be nosy. I've been to a few trade shows that have a lot of drone vendors and yes the boys love them. Their stands are always packed. They just love any new toys that are out. The ones in the lower price range like you said don't have a long fly time. The good ones are really pricey!

| I have seen a couple drone videos that were fun: one by Martha Stewart showing her Bedford estate from the air, and another by a random guy showing his neighborhood after a blizzard. I would be annoyed if my neighbors were flying drones around the neighborhood. Privacy and safety concern me. Enrique Iglesias used a drone in his concerts and injured one of his fingers badly when he tried grabbing it to give the camera a kiss. They look like fun, but I don't know how much use you would get out of it.

| It really depends on what your hubby would want to do with it but... honestly getting him a drone in the price range you're looking at might not be worth it. Taking a motorcycle as an example... If your hubby wants one and he's thinking "Harley Davidson", you're looking at mopads. LOL On the other hand, maybe your husband does want a mopad? o_O Any way to ask him or find out from friends what he's looking to do with? As for its uses... I've seen some ppl use drones to take incredible scenery. One of the best I've seen was for fireworks! But I'm sure you'd have to be an expert in flying one to do this... |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Wow that video is cool! Yeah, I just don't know if this is the right gift or not bc I can't think of what he'd really even do with the thing. I can see him flying it around a few times and then forgetting about it, ya know? Plus w/ such a low flying time, it's kind of a let down. I'm sure I could get much more if I wanted to spend 1k or something...but yeah, don't really want to spend that on a flippin' drone, lol. I don't know WHAT to get this guy! It's our 10th Anniversary coming up next week and I'm STUMPED!

10th Anniversary... hmm.. how about a little brother/sister for Marcel!? What are his hobbies? Does he enjoy wine, scotch, etc? Maybe a nice weekend getaway for just the two of you? Or... you can get him a very nice tie and model it for him "pretty woman" style. LOL | |

He does enjoy both wine and scotch, but we have plenty of that already right now. And we're going to Vegas next week for our actual anniversary...so that's our weekend away. So I'm just not sure! We already have 4 doggies...so we're totally maxed out there, lol ! I need to think about what hobbies I could buy for though...hmmm....dang he is sure tough to buy for! If anyone has any ideas, toss them out there!

| Men are difficult to buy for, or expensive...if he is into racing or fast cars Richard Pettys Driving Experience is in Vegas, my husband would LOVE that! But my husband loves anything that's loud, fast, shoots etc. Tickets to a NFL or college football game, an engraved watch, OR a goody box from Adam & Eve or Badd Kitty if your feeling spicy lol.

| Happy 10th Anniversary!! I don't know that much about drones apart from if I ever saw one over my property I'd do anything and everything I could to take it out. BUT, because I'm a hypocrite, I would consider using one to peek on Enrique Iglesias. Yeah, I thought it and said it. |

| Hee hee!!! Happy 10th-Anniversary-to-be!!! Is he into flying at all? For anniversaries etc., I usually get Andy a flying lesson...so far he's been gliding, flown a helicopter, looped-the-loop in a stunt plane, flown a Tiger Moth etc. etc... Harry and I sit in the bar (of course!! ) taking random photos of usually the wrong plane... xx
