At what time would you call cops to complain about a party?

Lol, I'm with you. I'm a night shifter but would still be upset if the neighbors were making a lot of noise. I am considerat of my neighbors and would hope they would be the same for me.

Depends. How loud is it? If it's midnight and they're thumping music and screaming outside, absolutely I'd be calling. I've had to deal with way too many drunks and fights...ugh.

I also work Saturdays so I need sleep, LOL. Not to mention Zeus will go into a tizzy if they're next door with them coming and going, slamming their doors...bah.

I'm really considerate (consider myself to be an empath, lol) to other people to the point it drives Chad crazy sometimes. Because I am, I expect others to do the same.

They always have parties! Called the cops, they said someone else on the street already complained. Doubt they will actually come by. If they did each time we complained tineye opulent have parties anymore.

Just start your party during the day when they're trying to recover from theirs... if they ever stop, lol.

Two cars came by. They sat out there w their running lights on. By that time they closed th garage door and you can't see the strobe lights anymore. It's tuned down now, but still annoying. I got pics and vid, I think one of the cars hit bf's car while trying to parallel park.

We have a noise ordinance....10pm during the week, 12 midnight on weekends. They are pretty good about enforcing it in my neighborhood.....I used to call on my neighbors everytime they busted the limit, and the police responded and shut the party down. I am like you....I bend over backward, trying to honor other people's right to exist without my intrusion into their life in any way....and I expect others to be as considerate....and most are not. How many mornings do I go out, after one of those late night parties where these thuggy kids and their thuggy friends sit out in their cars, parked all over the cul-de-sac, all along the curb, in front of everybody's house at least 3 deep, smoking and drinking and eating, and leaving their trash and bottles, in the street and in the front yard of which ever neighbor they are parked in front of....no consideration or respect for other's property.....and it is all excused because, "hey they are just kids and kid all do these things".....WELL, NO, NOT ALL KIDS DO THIS!!! My parents raised me to respect other peoples property. MY rights end where the other person's rights begin! But kids are not taught this any longer. So, continue to call the police, ESPECIALLY if you have a noise ordinance....they will get tired of the calls and they will shut down the party.

Hummm, they are having a party and didn't invite you? You could always hire some gangbusters to crash the party - oh wait, you called the cops and it's their job.

I have a very low tolerance level for others invading my space and I would consider a loud party invading my space. I honestly don't know what I'd to, it's been so long since I had a neighbor close enough to disturb the peace and quiet of country living. The worst I have to contend with is the neighbor's lights at their gated entrance. .

I'm sure that I'd complain by midnight on a weeknight and by 1:00 am on a weekend. By that time the party should be indoors and the music toned down. The best way to stop the problem is to call the police, file complaints, etc. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Eventually the message will get across that you are serious about the noise level and perhaps the police will take action.

When my dd were teenagers we had the cops called on us... I told the cops "thank you" because the party was crashed and it was out of control. 300 or more kids showed up, smoking pot in our front yard..I went ballistic!! A few weeks later I found the "flyer" my dd were passing out. I will not go into what happened then

We had gone to all the neighbors and told them about the party and all were cool... until 300 kids showed up that is lol.

In another house there was a party that lasted till 5... I did not call because I didn't want to be the "bad guy". It turned out it was a "repossession party" they were being kicked out and didn't care! My dd's car was trashed..which was another 4 month nighmare with the insurance company and real life changer

Anther time the adults across from us started having parties. They were so loud - we couldnt even hear our tv (we lived in a house in a small almost zero lot community)! My dh banged on their door, the next day the wife got really rude with me about how I should not band on her door and "address her the way my dh did " (I am sure he was not polite). I say "you are right, I will just call the cops the next time". Well, the next time they were shut down when the cops arrived... music OFF!! yeah The time after that they were fined YEAH!!

So .... find out the rules of your area. They almost always have a noise ordinees. It is likely 12:00 mid night

When I was in my 30's, we put up with a horrible graduation party down the street with screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs late into the night. It was a "school night," for me as a teacher,and our side of the street, only, had lost electricity, not their side, so could not even drowned the noise out with a fan. I don't know why we put up with that party, and I will never do it again. Grumpy old lady is what I have turned into.

I finally had a party for the first time in 2 1/2 years I have lived here granted my neighbor always has loud club lighting in backyard wildness... Well there was kinda loud music BUT it was like classics you know Journey, Phil Collins, old country, Brown eyed girl... The classic sing alongs and we got the cops called at 8:30 PM on a Saturday night... By the ONE person Ryan has not put a new roof on their house!!! Of course the cops came laughed and asked if Ryan could come out and look at his mom's roof for him the next week.

I'm kind of hard nosed about this as we used to have neighbors across the street from us (two teenage boys whose single mom was out of town on occasion) and had to call the police at about 1 am. When she got home and we talked about it, she told me "good, they need to know that behavior is not acceptable." I was thunderstruck. Don't you think their mother should be able to get this across to them??? So I draw the line at 1 am. I know, I'm such a meanie!!!

The bad thing with our house is when we are watching movies we have no clue how loud it sounds outside until I came home one night and he was watching TV... The whole front of our house was shaking
