| Green Coffee Bean Extract Weight Loss Ok, so I tuned into Dr. Oz today which I NEVER do but happened to turn it on right when they were talking about this green coffee bean extract. Now, first off, I've been trying to get healthy again. Last year, I lost around 13lbs but gained it all back over winter. Really, though, I need to lose 30lbs at least to be healthy. I barely noticed the 13lbs gone physically but did feel so much better. So I've been eating better and back to exercising more.... starting to feel better again. Now I see this Pure green coffee bean extract, it's in a capsule, and apparently in it's raw form, it's all natural and a great aid to weight loss. I can't find anything bad about it or any side effects. A couple of studies have been done on it. This doctor featured never recommends diet pills, etc, but said this was different. Now the two women on Dr. Oz (I think one was 255lbs and the other was 185, or something) lost weight without even changing their diet or exercise (for the purpose of the 'experiment' to see if it worked) and the heavier woman lost 6lbs in 5 days and the other lost 2lbs in 5 days. Now obviously Dr. Oz recommends eating healthy and exercising as well. They said it gave them more energy, and made them less hungry, etc, etc. But I'm going to lie, this intrigues me. I'm not looking for an easy fix or a cheap way out, but admit it would be motivating to actually SEE results, and last year I felt like I was working my butt off and still not losing much of anything. And I NEVER believe what I see on any of these types of shows. But this seems pretty legit, and all natural. I can't see the harm in trying. But... any thoughts? I haven't researched a ton yet, so am definitely going to do more. | I was off work yesterday and happened to catch this episode also. It was very interesting!! I have been cutting back on carbs and trying to eat healthier too, and have lost about 10lbs. My DH needs to lose more than I do and he will not change his eating habits very much. I am going to get some of the Green Coffee Bean Extract and give it a try for both of us. I like that it supposedly has no side effects.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I was a skeptic, until I read some of the information. There does seem to be some scientific research that this works with some people. I did a little research and couldn't find any negatives. I think it sounds like it might work better for people who have metabolic reasons for being overweight, rather than just overeating because it reduces insulin levels, although one article said it may reduce fat absorption. I’m tempted to give it a try and I’m the biggest skeptic in the world! We do have a new member by the name of greencoffee. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/member.php?u=19244585

| I am definitely interested. I'd try it for 12 weeks to see what happens.

| Well .... this is a pretty expensive trial. Each bottle contains 30 beans. They suggest 6 beans a day (2 before each meal) for 90 days. That is about 18 bottles and at $13 a bottle, it comes out to about $234 for 90 days worth.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Hey everyone this is a little diferent but, I had a vendor come in yesterday and he said he has been taking Chia Seeds to help with weight loss. I looked them up and they look pretty interresting and not too expensive. I am thinking of trying them. Anyone tried those?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The type Dr. Oz spoke about was the "extract" not the beans.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It appears the one Doc Oz had on the show was from here: PURE HEALTH - Green Coffee Bean, Pure Raspberry and Superfruit Juices At 800mg a day, this brand would cost about $26 a month. {edited...wait...their brand says 400mg, but it takes 2 pills to make 800mg, so I guess you'd need to take 4 pills a day; which means about 4 bottles a month, right? So it'd be closer to $52 a month. Am I doing it right? Lol) Interesting. Another supplement that has studies behind it is EGCg, which is part of Green Tea extract. You do have to buy 'standardized' EGCg...not just "green tea capsules" etc.. info: Green Tea-Obesity Studies This is the one I get, which has the right EGCg stuff: Amazon.com: NOW Foods EGCg, Green Tea Extract,...

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This one is the EGCg (link above), which is also a supplement linked to weight loss (studies via link above). I only mentioned it in case anyone wanted to try something a little more reasonable.
