| Colored fonts distracting? Is anyone else having a problem with the colored fonts that some members are using? I don't want to stir up a controversy here....just curious if it is bothering anyone else? I start to read these things and find them so distracting and harsh to my eyes, that I quite frankly don't finish reading them most of the time. It really hurts my eyes to view them.

| yes.. they bother me also. I did not want to hurt anyone's feelings. I do pick sentences if I am quoting to bring attention to something I think of important.. but I am now careful to choose dark green or red not the bright colors. Maybe it is just my eyes There is a sticky with guidelines ... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...uidelines.html 3. PLEASE do not use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS when you post a reply or a new thread. All caps symbolizes shouting and while it can be used for emphasis, usually messages with entirely all capital letters are frowned upon. 6. PLEASE do not use obnoxiously large fonts, hard to read fonts, or hard to read colors in your posts. Remember, we have people of all ages on YT and it may be hard for them to read your message if it is not easy to see. Your account privileges may be restricted if you continuously use obnoxious font sizes.

| I did not want to hurt feelings either, but they seem to be occurring more and more; and I find them terrible on my eyes. I might actually miss something because I really do skip over them. hahhaa....reading the guidelines tells me what the problem may be: My Age!

| They hurt my eyes, too. I've given up on even trying to read posts done in those bright fonts. Occasionally, I'll highlight in red font a word or phrase that I've quoted but I try to keep it short and not do an entire post in color.

| I agree, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or spoil any fun, but I am an aging lady with poor eyesight (got my first bifocals/progressive lenses this year) and I have great difficulty reading the colored fonts. I want to read everyone's posts, and I regret having to skip some because I am physically unable to read them.

| I have to confess, I am guilty of using colored fonts in birthday threads. My apologies.

| I absolutely LOVE most of the colored fonts, especially used to highlight points you are trying to make. I agree that when certain colored fonts are used in bolded form for entire posts, it is difficult to read. I agree with Bonny, I generally don't finish reading posts that are entirely posted in certain bright colors..... I guess I'm in the for making your I |

| I also use them in birthday threads. Those don't tend to bother my eyes. It is the long paragraphs ... I can read a little bit, but then the words all seem to start running together and I simply find I cannot focus on them...and I just give up. Lately I have stopped trying to read them altogether. I am sure it is my age...and my eyes....I am just relieved that it is happening to others. I thought it might be something really weird with my eyes...seriously.

| I think it is an age thing as I've noticed more of this problem as I get older.

I didn't even see the line about the age... goes to show that I didn't read the whole paragraph -- just like my students!!!!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I don't think its an age thing necessarily. I'm 28 with perfect vision and still find them hard to read and distracting. I too just stop reading, especially if its multiple paragraphs. I just can't be bothered.
