| Emphasizing a word or two and celebrating birthday wishes call for a lil colour, but I too find the full on bright colours obnoxious & hard to read, so tend to skip by them. Also seems like those that use bright colours alot tend to ramble on, so I skip those posts.

| I agree with everyone here. I can't read some of the comments that are one in highlighted colors. I have highlighted in red when quoting, just to bring a particular sentence out as to what my comment is to. If it is a comment in bright colors I don't read, it's just to hard. |

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Maybe Admin can change the rules to say no font colors allowed unless used to highlight a particular section of a quote you would like to refer to. Rules do not apply to signatures. -- I don't mind the colors in Happy Birthday threads or Congratulation threads because they are usually only a few expressive words and not paragraphs.

| I would hope that the people using them would see this thread and perhaps stop using them. I don't think they are using them are trying to annoy...perhaps if they realize that many people are not reading their posts, they will want to make them easier to read. If that does not work, I suppose bringing it to Admin's attention so that he can speak with them might help? I hate to report something that is just an innocent thing. I don't know.

| [QUOTE=Lil Sis;3478731]yes.. they bother me also. I did not want to hurt anyone's feelings. I do pick sentences if I am quoting to bring attention to something I think of important.. but I am now careful to choose dark green or red not the bright colors. Maybe it is just my eyes ![]()

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | They do bother me too....if the entire post is in a color. It doesn't bother me if a color is used to highlight a few words. But if an entire post is in color, I don't tend to read much of it bc something about it bothers my ability to absorb it/tolerate it. I don't really know why...

| Yes, that bothers me a lot. Pinks and purples are the worst, imho. Like a lot of other posters, I will use red sometimes to highlight, but I usually use the bold option and underline.

| Thanks LadyJane, for bringing this subject up! Definately bothers me too! For some reason hot pink (which I like as a color & even use it a little bit in my signature) makes my eyes SWIM if I see a paragraph of it. I also get distracted by each paragraph being a different color. I hadn't brought it up for same reasons mentioned here. Some get sensitive. But it has been brought up many times before. I think it's commented on once or twice a year and folks usually do better for awhile after someone posts like this. Maybe some have found the #6 Rule/Guideline to be a subjective rule and maybe they didn't even find their color choices "obnoxiously hard to read?" Maybe now any question about that will be rectified. It would be nice if some folks would just see this thread and adjust. I tend to skip over some of the posts when the color is annoying. I would hate to miss some good info because of it. I'll admit -- I have some old eyes!

| It bothers me too. Sometimes if it's something that I'm interested in reading I'll have to highlight the paragraph so that I can read it more easily. Otherwise I'll probably skip right over the colored font. And, I have to admit that it's taking an awful lot of willpower to not write this entire reply in light yellow

| So glad you brought this up, I totally agree it is annoying. I've wanted to say something myself but also don't want to offend anyone, so I've found myself skipping over the overly colorful or overly bolded posts. But, big bold colorful birthday greetings with lots of smileys ARE totally appropriate (and kinda expected). It is like a sunburn on my eyeballs

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | WEll as part of the old gal brigade, I thought it was my eyes, and failing brain. Or failing eyes and tired brain. Giggle you get the drift. Now after struggling, I just give up on the hot bolded pink, or the hot bolded purple if it comprises a big part of the message. Phew I least I know I'm not alone here.
